Re: Hubby / Wifey

Yuck

Re: Hubby / Wifey

Blech

Re: Hubby / Wifey

Babe = jaani on the eeeewness scale.

Or wait…maybe not. Let’s slow down and analyze here cuz there are so many variables.

Babe/baybbbieee (said in a fobby accent)…< jaani.

Re: Hubby / Wifey

How about ‘Zauja Mohtarma’?

Oh no! I love babe. You should try sometime rv unless you are too old to be called a babe :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Hubby / Wifey

LOL, that can only work as a term of endearment if you reverse it: Dushman jaani. How kinky.

Yuck!!!

Re: Hubby / Wifey

I’m too young to read such obscenities!!! :nahi:

Re: Hubby / Wifey

you mean ‘dushman-e-jaaN’ … yeh to bahot adabii moHabbat bhare alfaaz haiN.

ek Bollywood gaanaa bhii thaa:

ai dushman-e-jaaN, tu chalaa kahaaN?

Re: Hubby / Wifey

How about “My old lady” and “my old man”?

btw, ‘buddhi’ is frequently used in Punjabi. I’m not sure if it evolved from ‘old lady’ or vohti.

Re: Hubby / Wifey

No lady is too old to be called a babe. It depends upon the age of the person who is calling the lady a babe. A 65 years old man calling his 60 years old wife ‘babe’, is perfectly kosher.

Re: Hubby / Wifey

yeh to Zardari moHtaramah BB ko kahte rahe hoNge.

puraane zamaanoN meN sunaa hai k shawaahir apnii ahliyaaoN ko “Mehroo Begum” [chaand sii soorat waali begum] kahaa karte the!

Re: Hubby / Wifey

in rural areas, older couple call each other “baRe miyaaN” and “baRii Bi”

Re: Hubby / Wifey

I thought those terms are generally for older people. Never heard spouses call each other those.

Other options for you: honey bee, jelly bean, gorgeous, love, darling, sweetheart, honey bun, buttercup, that senseless woman.

Re: Hubby / Wifey

yeah, i did say the 'older couple". i LOVED ‘honey-bi (bee)’

Re: Hubby / Wifey

Kkf will convert those all those into Mughalish Urdu.

Re: Hubby / Wifey

lol…yeah, i can but i intend to coin my own words of endearment once i have my wife beside me!, iA

Re: Hubby / Wifey

Meaning you wouldn’t insist on ‘Jahan-panah’ and ‘zill-e-subhani’?

Re: Hubby / Wifey

lol…jahaN kiuN? jaaN panaah ziyaada mauzooN hogii!

Re: Hubby / Wifey

I like to call my wife “aray sunti ho?”

Re: Hubby / Wifey

replace “aray” to “ajii” to make it more interesting and more traditional.
