I quite dislike the terms hubby/wifey as well. They’re rather 70s in my opinion. :hehe:

Oh, I don't know for sure if they're originally from the 1970s. I've heard them in a couple of 70s films and tend to associate them with 1970s suburbia.

I'm not sure what the latest trend is. Personally though, I'd feel strange calling my husband anything too cutsey.

Madran in desi sense. I am hearing more of these words in desi community since last 10 years or so. @Mezhgan tends to associate them with 1970s suburbia which is not little sister of saudi arabia.

They don't even sound cheesy to me, more like wannabe.

Yeah both words so cringe-worthy. Especially when they're mentioned over 50 times in one small paragraph. Wifey just sounds plain stupid.

classic names are begum and mian ji..sound me better then all other in present times..better to call your spouse name..i really like to call your spouse by name..it sounds sweet and loving.
