Too bad, PMLN walas cannot pull a PPP or MQM and play a stinking old ethnic card to score some points.
Anyway, I still think by and large, the statement is actually harmless, but balefully vague for those who are desperately looking to connect the tiny dots and find connections. Pakistan’s absolutely daft and sensationalist media was baiting for some kind of army response to add spice and new dimensions to a largely lackluster and mundane trial of Musharraf, and they finally got it. Happy days! So as expected, they have effectively turned these standard remarks into a grand controversy, a bad omen if you like.
Thanks to an Army General, this is not 80s Pakistan where everyone must kneel down before the armed forces because Madam Noor Jahan and PTV said so.
Yeah no loot, it can’t be called looting, but for some mystic reason, Gohar Ayoub inherited huge wealth, the wealth which helped him to have the life style which many business men can only get in their 80s… same is with the sons of Zia, who had nothing but still they don’t have to work to earn their living, same is with Mushy, who have ( as per you) a half a million pound apartment in London, now how many generals from India, Iran, Saudi Arabia can make this kind of property…
it is only the Army chief who takes over his own country can some how gather this kind of wealth…
^^^ It is not about two dogs who illegally occupying seats in parliament barking, it is about constitution itself. Let us apply constitution on thugs who are illegally ruling the country in the name of democracy.
What constitution says about people eligible of contesting election and entering parliament?
Remember article 62, 63 and other clauses of the constitution and apply on NS, SS, Imran, Zardari, Saad rafiq, Kh Asif, and so on … and it would be clear that none of them even qualify to enter gate of parliament … (apart of all the evils of NS, NS is known blatant liar and constitution forbid a liar to enter parliament) … and since they do not even qualify to enter parliament, they still managed it by crook means, hence to kick thugs out of power is constitutional duty of armed forces.
62 and 63 do not count … but it is there in constitution, so it should count.
Anyhow …I saw last part of Hamid Mir program on TV today with his funny comment. All know that Hamid Mir is a joker and according to his character made a joke on TV too, associating Quaid-e-Azam with present day ‘dishonest thugs’ he commented that, ‘‘Pakistan was made by bloody civilians’’ … and …
I felt Quaid-e-Azam getting shock in his grave, upset that how Hamid Joker is comparing ‘Kanjars and dishonest thugs’ whose only purpose in power is to take whatever they can, lie, exploit Pakistan, rule, loot, plunder, mismanage, do nepotism, bring misery on Pakistanis, etc … with … people like him (Quaid-e-Azam) whose only purpose in life was to give to nation, be truthful, serve, work hard and be honest.
^^^ If you read neutral history you’d have different opinion of Jinnah, but that is different story. Btw, what make you think army men are pak saaf and only politicians are crooks? After all, the come from same place as politicians.
^^^ Who said that army men are pak-saaf. How do I know if they take water after passing water or not.
But one thing is certain, that is, before joining armed forces, army check other side of their trousers too and make sure nothing is there that is hidden … and whole their life, including their character and loyalty to nation, get monitored from day one they join the forces, and at every step of promotion they go through thorough check by most competent people … … … but one cannot say about any politicians that they are even circumcised or not.
When ALL neighbors of the country are complaining about Pakistan government allowing its territory to be used against them then there is something wrong with the policy of the government (and people who support this policy).
If army wants its dignity restored then** instead of asking it to wage war against the whole world, it is wiser to ask it to kill the Evil which is being nurtured by Pakistan government**, and which is causing trouble in the world and Pakistan itself.
Some people just can’t think with a clear mind. To them there is nothing wrong with the policies they have been pursuing.
