I know a few guys who drink and gamble but only eat halal stuff. :) and won't let me eat fries.

Dont think I ever ate that stuff... Used to love Baked beans as a kid, and I have heard that some cans of baked beans have pork in them, so I might have eaten them without realilzing it.
But honestly, Pork is the most disgusting meat on the planet. The smell of Bacon is hurrendous.
But for some reason Americans think its the best thing since sliced bread... So im considering trying it in soy meat form...
Whos with me, shall we see what all the hoop la over Bacon is about by trying the Vegetarian Soy version??!?!

There are a lot of Muslims who are willing to drink but would never eat pork… But I honestly think if they could get a buzz of bacon the way they get from a beer, then they would make exceptions for Pork aswell…

Whatever! to me people who eat tripes and kapooray are just as bad. The only difference is one is sanctioned by religion and one is not. But then religion/God does work in mysterious ways.

Yes khaas moka. When my wife is not around to stop me from eating something which is not good for my gout. (She knows better not to bring religion in between). Or I happen to be at a place where they serve on the menu (which is rare in middle east).
Do restaurants in mid-east (UAE, Bahrain, etc) serve alcohol?
Yes. Few.

People here are keep on saying that; they ate it accidentally or by mistake or blah! My question to them is, what you were expecting while eating? what you were eating then? Was that salad you were eating? Can't you differencite among meat and other food? Period! ... Isn't this your responsibitly to investigate before you eat? specially when you are in a non-Islamic country or visiting non-Muslims?
Fine, by mistake you said? Ok so were you expecting the meat to be zabeeha-Halaal? I mean what do you mean by calling it a mistake? You were eating meat and you don't know ?
Ask yourself this question again and again, and tell yourself what you did to prevent yourself from eating non-Zabeeha meat, leave that shiyty pork alone aside!
Really I am not convinced with this, 'by mistake and accidentally' excuses; can you guys convince Allah with these arguments? If yes then I have no problem, but ask this question to yourself and really no need to answer me, ...
The best answer would have been from those who ate pork and non-Zabeeha meat is yes we ate, we did mistake and may Allah forgive us and in future we will not eat it ...
I am NOT insulting nor mad, I am concern because being Muslims, we should take it very seriously, and its our responsibility to guide other Muslims as well, If we are not convinced then we can not convince our own children! Think...

Bhai sahab, I've been living in a Non-Islamic country all my life and I always try to stay away from pork or non-Halal meat. But sometimes you really don't suspect things to contain meat or pork and eat them without asking. Sometimes you ask for vegetarian, but the waiter serves you something non-veg by mistake because he/she mixed up the tables.
These things happen, my friend. I would be glad if they didn't, but they do.

But sometimes you really don't suspect things to contain meat or pork and eat them without asking. Sometimes you ask for vegetarian, but the waiter serves you something non-veg by mistake because he/she mixed up the tables.
These things happen, my friend. I would be glad if they didn't, but they do.
Waiters made mistake by changing tables ? well no comments on that! cuz still you can see what you ordered!
and you orders vegetable but they bring pork and you eat ? ... well again no comments as I made my point really clear in my earlier post!
How in the world if I order Palak-paneer and they bring Pork fry and I still have to trust the waiter and not trusting myself?

^If you notice alot of people here said they ate it in grade school as well. To this day I sometimes have trouble distinguishing whats turkey and whats pork, ham, etc... imagine a little kid, or someone new to a country and they cant find a halal place at first or whatever, therefore they have no choice but to eat from a non-halal place and have never really seen pork firsthand so even if they're given the wrong order, they wouldnt know the difference. Besides, if you order a salad and they put pork bits in there, you might not even notice them cuz they're so tiny.

agreed, but I am not talking about Kids or grade school children! For that their parents are responsible and they should have taught them before going to school!
About Turkey stuff, if you can't recognise, then you better leave it, anything which puts you in doubts should be left! Theek hay ?
About new comers, are they not Muslims? Have they not enough knowledge about the country they are going to ? where is their own Islamic teachings ? are they so naive that they don't know Halaal and Haraam? if not then they should learn some Islam!
About eating Haraam... well there are foods other than haraam meat, I guess they will not die if they don't eat haraam meat! ... but again choice is theres, Only if they have nothing to eat and they are about to die, then they can eat... else NOT!

Alhamdulilah, I never ate pork or non halal meat, not even accidentally. But once I bought a chocholate cake without checking the ingredients and when I tasted it, it had a horrible taste, I spat it out and checked the ingredients, it had liquor in it....I just threw the whole cake into the bin.
