How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

Aqeel you have not addressed the following post of mine. [Post 12]

  1. Can you please answer the following keeping the above post of mine in mind:

Why do Shias who believe the Hz. Fatimah (ra) was the only daughter of the Prophet (saw) yet still address them as ‘bint Muhammad’ – Keep the ayah quoted below in mind:

*Assert their relationship to their fathers; this is more equitable with Allah; but if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brethren in faith and your friends; and there is no blame on you concerning that in which you made a mistake, but (concerning) that which your hearts do purposely (blame may rest on you), and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. *Quran [33:5]

  1. I have quoted Hz Ali (ra) from Nahjul Balagha – Sermon 163 where he acknowledges that Hz Uthman is son in law of the Prophet (saw). Do you dispute him?
  1. I have given you reference from Shia site showing Shia very grudgingly accepting the fact that Prophet (saw) had 3 more daughters besides lady Fatimah (ra).

What do you have to say to that?

But still you will will be in denial mode.

As the famouse saying goes: “You can lead the horse to the water but you can’t make him drink it.”

Believe me, I do sympathise with you and understand your dilemma in accepting the fact the Prophet (saw) had other daughters besides lady Fatimah (ra). It’s only the brave who when given the facts accept them.

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

Open Tafseer Dur-e-Mansoor, if u dont agree with him..... write ur own Tafseer :)

^^^Check my First post on topic... I said some shias do agree with Prophet s.a.w having daughters, Some dont.... You quoted Bahar Ul Anwar, Also Check Mufati ul jannaan.

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

do you need sahi shia hadees on this issue…

A Sahi(authentic) narration from shia book: محمد بن يعقوب عن علي بن ابراهيم عن ابيه عن ابن محبوب عن علي بن رئاب عن عبد صالح عليه السلام قال، ادع بهذا الدعاء في شهر رمضان مستقبل دخول السنة
. . .
اللهم صل على القاسم والطاهر ابني نبيك، اللهم صل على رقية بنت نبيك والعن من آذى نبيك فيها، اللهم صل على ام كلثوم بنت نبيك

Muhammd b. Ya’qub from ‘Aliy b. Ibrahim from his father from ibn Mahbub from ‘Aliy b. Râ’ib from Abd Salih (peace be upon him) he said: Call with this prayer in the month of Ramadan in the future with the entrance of the year: O Allah send your blessings upon Qâsim and Tâhir sons of your Prophet, O Allah send your blessings upon Ruqayyah daughter of your prophet and curse those who hurt your Prophet through her, O Allah send your blessings upon Umm Kulthûm daughter of your Prophet. [Tahdhib al-Ahkam, Vol. 3, Pg. 106-122]

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

Yes indeed he married his two daughters to Usman but "The Possessor of two lights" was not conferred by Prophet Muhammad(s) himself. In fact, i never came across any hadith in praise of others daughters as is in the case of Fatima. Her rank as evident from numerous hadiths is above all others, in fact above the entire women. Fatima is the only daughter to be included in Ahle Bayt and her husband Ali the only son in law of Muhammad(s) to be part of Ahle Bayt and Ali is still Ahle Bayt even after the demise of Fatima. The reason Shias uphold Fatima above all is because of the special status granted to her by the Prophet (s). She alone is the progeny of Muhammad (s) and mother of our imams (as).

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

Argument 20:
Are there any merits reported about any of the daughter of prophet(Saw)?
Answer:
Well there can be many but of what I have come across are these:

  1. Hz ruqayya(ra) was among the group of those muhajirin who were mentioned in quran.
The Qur’an speaks of the migration of the early Muslims to Abyssinia, as Allah says: And as for those who emigrated for the Cause of Allah, after they had been wronged, We shall certainly give them goodly residence in this world, but indeed the reward of the Hereafter will be greater; if they but knew!”(Al-Nahl 16:41)
al-Qurtubi (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) as saying: What is referred to here is the companions of Muhammad (salAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), who were oppressed by the mushrikeen in Makkah and expelled, until a group of them migrated to Abyssinia, then Allah granted them a place to which to migrate (i.e. Madinah) and granted them supporters from among the believers. [at-Tabaqat, 1/204; Tareekh at-Tabari, 2/69]
Another verse: “Say (O Muhammad (salAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam): “O My slaves who believe (in the Oneness of Allah- Islamic Monotheism), fear your Lord (Allah) and keep your duty to Him. Good is (the reward) for those who do good in this world, and Allah’s earth is spacious (so if you cannot worship Allah at a place, then go to another)! Only those who are patient shall receive their reward in full, without reckoning”(Al-Zumar 39:10)
Ibn ‘Abbas radiyallaahu`anhu said: This refers to Ja’far ibn Abi Talib and those who went with him to Abyssinia. al-Jami’li Ahkam al-Qur’an by al-Qurtubi, 10/107]
When there was a rumour that the people of Makkah had become Muslim, news of that reached the emigrants in Abyssinia, so they came back, but when they drew close to Makkah, they heard what was being said about the people of Makkah becoming Muslim was false. But they entered the city under the protection of some of the people of Makkah. Among those who returned was ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan and his wife Ruqayyah (may Allah be pleased with them both) [as-Seerah an-Nabawiyyah by Ibn Hisham, 1/402]
  2. Regarding the marriage of hz umm kulthum(ra) , jibrael(as) came with the command from Allah.
Prophet (s.a.w) saw Uthman after the death of Uthman(r.a)’s wife Ruqiyyah (the daughter of Prophet (s.a.w)) in deep grief and sorrow and he asked the reason. Uthman told that the bond between him and the Prophet (s.a.w) was cut off. Upon that, Prophet (s.a.w) said here is Jibreel, Allah orders that I marry to you my daughter Ummu Kulthum (r.anha) Usd al-Ghabah, found near Ibn Mandah, transmitted by Sa’id bin al-Musayyib]
    Another report:
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah radiyallaahu`anhu that the Prophet (saw) stood at the door of the mosque and said: “O ‘Uthman, Jibreel has told me that Allah wants you to marry Umm Kulthoom for a dowry similar to that of Ruqayyah and to treat her with similar kindness.”[Sunan Ibn Majah, no.110.]

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

right..the daughters were part of the Muhajarin and EVERY muhajir was praised and I already know Prophet Muhammad (s) gave two daughter to Usman. thats it? Fatima was the youngest and still received the most special treatment from the Prophet.

Im talking about praise as in the case of Fatima where the Prophet(s) specifically granted his other daughters any special status, title?

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

moron, Allah(swt) commanding prophet(Saw) to marry his daughter...with hz usman(ra).. what else does you say virtue is... do you even know the meaning of fadail.. or according to you only titling a person is fadail.. grow up man..

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

oh man..i dint know i was talking to a kid. sorry my bad and stop being frustrated. its ok..

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

and lastly, giving a daughter to someone on Allah's command is not any VIRTUE on part of the daughter..what insanity. just give it a rest. you are not going anywhere with this " OH LOOK the Prophet(s) had 4 daughters". It doesnt change anything.

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

.

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

Do you think Prophet of Allah namelu Lut (as) and Noah (as) had chosen their respective wives on their own and Allah (swt) didnt have any role in that? Grow up, this relationships are not going to benefit anyone, its the personal character which matters! What about Lady Asiya (as) married to Firawn (la)?

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

Some well-wisher you are. Grow up, stop posting in such an offensive way. Ibn Sadique posts in a respectable matter, but you're just here calling people names and trying to get us to say we are kafir, rather than wishing well on us.

Nobody ever replied to my post on page 1. The main part of it..

[quote]

The main concern in, Rasoolallah (saw) did not mention them as much in comparison to Bibi Zahra (sa). She is also the only one to have any continual lineage, so the argument is inconsequential as we follow the sunnah taught to us by His (saw) bloodline.

Sahih Muslim: Book 031, Number 5955:
'A'isha reported that Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) went out one norning wearing a striped cloak of the black camel's hair that there came Hasan b. 'Ali. He wrapped hitn under it, then came Husain and he wrapped him under it along with the other one (Hasan). Then came Fatima and he took her under it, then came 'Ali and he also took him under it and then said: Allah only desires to take away any uncleanliness from you, O people of the household, and purify you (thorough purifying)

Even if the sons of Rasoolallah (saw), Tahir, Ibrahim, and Qasim were alive and were not under the cloak, they would not be part of Ahl al-Kisa. Just as the other daughters were not.

As for marrying Uthmaan, just because they were wives of Uthman doesn’t mean the Prophet (saw) married them to him. Keep in mind that both Ruqayyah and Umme Kulthoom were previously married, and Islamically it was not required of them to seek consent from their father before marrying anyone.

Whatever you want to say, it is apparent which daughter of Rasoolallah (saw) had the higher merit in Islam and its history, who Surah Kawthar was a special sign about. It’s undeniable that Fatima Zahra (sa) had a special place in the heart of Rasoolallah (saw).

Even though Fatima Zahra's (sa) rank is not a reason to deny the existence of her sisters, the existence of her sisters isn’t a reason to deny her rank.

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

lol.. indeed Allah have sealed the hearts of people, they dont even use the least common sense when judging things they dont believe.

Allah(swt) orderding marriage of any individual.. Itself is a great virtue and people with sound knowledge knows this...

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

Why is only Ali included in the Ahle Bayt and not other son in laws? If you argue that since the ayat was revealed after the demise of first daughters, the inclusion of Usman would have been impossible then Ali should have been excluded from the Ahle Bayt after the death of Fatima. Why this special treatment?

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

Can you show me that Allah commanded them to marry those women and that their marriage took place after they were granted prophethood..and did Allah command hz asiya(as) to marry firawn.. I dont like to answer assumptions made by OPs..

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

kiddo..its only a great honor for Usman to have been married to the daughters. How does the command to marry elevate the status or is in any kind a special merit for the daughter itself? think hard..is it coming?

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

because after the death of the daughters of prophet(Saw) the relation of son in laws of prophet(Saw) were cutoff: Hadhrat Uthman said, ‘alas, my grief and mourning can’t be compensated, because once the Prophet(saw) said, ‘on the day of resurrection all relationships of all persons will be cut off except my relationship’. Alas! my kinship kinship with the Prophet(saw) has been cut off. (kanzul amaal vol 6, page 379)

But this was not the case with hz ali(ra) because hz ali(ra) was the one from whom progeny of prophet(Saw) survived.

The Prophet(saw) said: "Verily, Allah, to whom belong Might and Majesty, has placed the progeny of each prophet into his backbone (Sulb), and He, Exalted, has placed my progeny into the backbone of Ali Ibn Abi Talib." [al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ch. 11, section 1, p239]

And moreover hz ali(ra) was already from ahlebayt since he was from banu hashim and acceptance of sadaqa was haram for him.. where as this was not the case with the other two son in laws since they were not from ban hashim.

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

how many women do you find whose marriage was decided by Allah(Swt)...

If you think its special, then that is fadail.. but you can only understand if you have brain.. so im sorry i cant help you out in this

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

The prophet does not do do anything without the will of Allah...so just stop trying to carve out a merit for the daughter in this regard

Re: How many Daughters did Prophet(Saw) have?

the entire clan of banu hashim is the Ahle Bayt? arent you the one who started the Complete Ahle Bayt thread?
