61 wkts in 14 matches tells me a lot. It tells me that he is atleast as good as Kapil dev. When the rest of your bowling resources are depleted, one guy can do the major cleanup. So why do we keep under-estimating Gul? He is good enough to stand up shoulder to shoulder with other bowling greats.

He is a very good bowler. Let him play 50 tests, then we will compare him with anyone. For now, he is the future of Pakistan along with Asif.

Mr. fair_&_balance does not like to compare current players with the old legands. But the fact is, you are good when you are still ascending, not when you are over the hill. You are likely to be dangerous when you are going up, not when you have a big resume of past achievements. Based on that I find gul as good as any, on all accounts (61 wkts, in 14 tests. avg 4.55 wkts per match. 14 matches is not a small sample)
