With my plain paratha! With the aloo or daal paratha (which we call bir'haiN), I eat either timatar ki chutney or kondha ki tarkari - I like masalay-daar foods with aloo or daal-parathas.

Ew! Who’s going to eat mango with salan/nihari or qorma. Now cake is a different issue - I’ve eaten mango mousse cakes

my dad used to eat sliced mango with daal chawal (like people eat achar). I also enjoy that combo a lot whenever I can.

I heard my daadi called them birhiaan and she was from jabalpur.

No need for slicing. Poke in a tiny hole, suck the pulp out. Not very ladylike, but it gets the job done.

You can do that with some genre of mangoes only not with all kinds of mangoes . some mangoes you have to slice and eat whatever way you want to.

btw, this thread reminded me of my nani aama 
she used to make so yummy “aam russ” and parathas in the morning. that was the best Nashta. Aam Russ, Paratha and chai !!!

yeah...we call it tht too..and we eat tht daal wala paratha with aam and istoo(do pyaza of meat)

Mirch, I've found that aside from some of the green ones (which i reserve for chutneys) most of the others are quite pliable.
