Re: Home made tips

Horizon472> Best way to apply base is to first apply some mosituriser on face, let it sink in then after few mins apply a dab of concealer under eyes and lids and on ay blemishes (if any), then use foundation and then dust with the powder.

Tried and tested foundations that work on Asian skins include: YSL, Bobbi Brown, Iman, Elizabeth Arden, Max Factor and Avon.

Dont apply too much moisturise before your foundation as that will make the foundation base wear off quicker - you only need to use a dab of moisturiser on face. I quite like Olay for moisturising.

It also seems as though your skin is in need of sum desperate TLC - you should think about treating yourself to sum conditioning face masks, mud masks are excellent for this purpose, also steaming and regular facials will help improve skin condition.

Another thing what's your diet like? it really helps if your drinking plenty of water and eating healthy fresh fruit and veg - also a vitamin called SkinVit may help too.

Let me know how you get on and hope that helps.

Re: Home made tips

Pyaari83> Hiya!

I think the best way to close d pores is to use toner - it doesnt really matter which brand, but any toner will help. Also you must ensure that you keep your skin very clean by cleansing/washing it regularly and try not to use any make-up (especially foundation and powder) because you are more likely to have an outbreak of spots as your pores are open.

Also use a mild moisturiser - Olay is good for that and try not to have any facials or steam your face until your pores close. If symptoms persist i would suggest that you consult your local GP.

Hope that helps.

Re: Home made tips

omg my skin is so kahrab wel it s myown fault i dont care for myself but it is so damn bad i got cracks and dry skin by my eyes wat shal i do i put cream but it burns my skin

Re: Home made tips

Hiya!

For thorough cleansing of pores, apply a mask which contains lemon will help as it has astringent properties. And you can also try steaming as that opens the pores so that any clogged up dirt is removed, thus preventing new spots from occuring.

Some ppl suggest that you apply toothpaste directly on any major spot/blackhead as it dries it up - but whatever you do make sure you have a good routine of cleansing your skin.

The steps are to first cleanse your skin, then use toner to seal the skin, and last of all apply some moisturiser. However, some ppl have naturally oily or combination skin and dont really need moisturiser, so if your skin is of that type just cleanse and tone at morning and night and limit your moisturiser to morning use only.

Anyway, d best remedy for blackheads is to have them removed through simple steps as follows:

1) Wash your face
2) Steam ur face (over a hot bowl of water and using towel to keep steam in or by using professional facial steamer)
3) Use a blackhead remover to remove blackheads (i love the Body Shop's blackhead remover, its great)
4) Then apply a mask (i.e. a mud mask) to remove all dirt/impurities from skin and wash off

Another thing is to have regular facials, at least once every 8-10 weeks. This will remove dirt and impurities from pores. If you dont get round to having facials, then other option is to use a Facial Scrub (Boot's own brand is great for this) at least once a week.

For your oily hair, i would suggest that you either try Body Shop's haircare range or consult your GP - also try to go withour washing your hair for two days instead of the one day and dont fidget/touch your hair as that makes hair greasier. Another thing, use very less shampoo and more conditioner on your hair - a common misconception is to over-do it with the shampoo thinking that you need to put more on for oily hair but that makes hair even more greasier.
Hope that helps.

Re: Home made tips

Hiya,

You want to cleanse and tone your face on a regular-basis to prevent pores from getting clogged up.

Exfoliating is fine, but be gentle and use a mild exfoliating scrub.

For marks use either ubtan (home-made) or try Fade-Out or Fade-Away available from local pharmacies.

Hope that helps.

Re: Home made tips

You should be able to get these from your local Pharmacy depending on where your based - where u from?

Or try online on Google - i'm not too sure of the company name dat produces these creams off the top of my head - sorry!

For falling eyelashes, you may want to put a vry tiny dab of vaseline which is meant to be good for them and try taking essential vitamins, as well as improving ur overall diet.

Hope that helps.

Re: Home made tips

Hi Zayma,

You want to avoid trying to many different products around your eye area as its the most delicate part of the face.

For the cracks on your skin you should try a mud mask or use honey on ur skin as a mask for approx 10mins or so - will help moisturise the skin. Then apply your usual moisturiser with a dab of vaseline.

Hope that helps.

:)

Re: Home made tips

i dont use products no jokes on my face cos i have really sentstive skin i use only E45 thats it to keep it soft but even that is burining my skin now

Re: Home made tips

Zayma,

Looks like your skin has had some sort of allergic reaction to something you may have eaten or been in contact with - best thing would be to not take any chances and consult your local GP who may even refer you to a Dermatologist.

Good luck!

Re: Home made tips

MW thanks for the helpful info. I actually steamed my face once...and I got more pimples...I guess I should have asked u first. But what I am doing now is washing my face, applying toner, then moisturizer (by loreal).

I have another question. My mom has chaiya (dark spots and freckles) on her face. What is the best way to lighter her dark spots or to even get rid of it? She has tried everything including stillman's and wasn't very successful in lightening her dark spots.
