Bhai Saheb, I have to admit this but there are more players then Suhail Abbas in our team.

Brother, Sohail Abbas is the man when we get penalty shots, so Im surprised he didnt score, but then again I heard most of the goals were field attacks so thats a good sign for our team, go boys!!!

Pakistan just scored a goal :hula: :hula:

**What a great first half, Pakistan leading 3-2 :k: **

Final Score - PAK 4 AUS 4

Well played Pakistan. Pakistan was unlucky not to win. This is how the game finished.

Schubert scores a rebound goal much to the delight of the 4,000 strong crowd who seemed to be barracking for the AUS team. PAK unlucky after holding the lead for all the game. Their defence did well to survive a continued barrage from the AUS midfield.

AUS earn their 4th corner after a good pass from Elder to AUS striker Egglington who earns a foot. The corner will be taken after the final siren.

sigh :smack:

Like Ehsan uncle said, Pakistan should have won the match. We were leading by one goal at the end of first half and ended up drawing the game, which means Pakistani defence wasn’t good in the 2nd half as it was in the 1st half or maybe Aussies were too good in the 2nd half than they were in the 1st one. Kudos to Aussies, who made a great comeback.

Mudassar Ali (left) scores for Pakistan against Australia in the Champions Trophy field hockey tournament at Amstelveen

Anyway, it’s kinda OK for Pakistan that we didn’t lose the match, and got the half pts, which we wouldn’t have if lost the match.

Players who scored for Pakistan

  • Mudassar Ali (6th minute)

  • Sohail Abbas (11th & 30th minute)

  • Salim Khalid (67th minute)

Players who scored for Australia

  • Grant Schubert (14th & 70th minute),

  • Troy Elder (32nd minute)

  • Dean Butler (68th minute).

Two late goals helped Australia force a 4-4 draw against Pakistan

Tomorrow, Pakistan is going to play with Argentina. They better win it. Good Luck to our team.

Pakistan Miss a Golden Chance, Draw With Aussies 4-4.](스포츠중계A - 스포츠중계 - 해외축구중계, 야구중계, MLS중계, Hockey중계, 고화질 무료 스포츠 중계)

Pakistan hockey team missed a golden chance to start the 25th Silver Jubilee edition of the coveted chanpions trrophy on a winning note when they failed to hold on to the two goals lead twice in the match against Australia in their opening match that ended in a 4-4 draw, played here at Amstelveen, Netherlands on Saturday .
From the start of the match Pakistan dominated the proceedings and made some dangerous inroads into the Aussies defence in 2nd and 3d minute. Left winger Sahbbir Hussain in 6th minute made a brilliant run down after snatching the ball from a defender and passed it to Mudaasir Ali Khan after beating the whole Aussies defense who scored the goal after beating goalie to make it 1-0. In 9th minute Jamie Dwyer missed an easy chance when Pakistani goalie Ahmed Alam was the only defender to beat . Jamie was to be taken out as result of a collision with Ahmed Alam .

Nadeem playing well had good shot at the goal defended by keeper Mark Hickman in 10th. Pakistan got it’s first short corner in 10th minute of rising ball that was well executed by Shoail Abbass put Pakistan 2-0 ahead in the match. Pakistan seemed to have slowed down as the Aussies reduced the lead in 14th minute when Schubert Grant initiated a brilliant move that ended with Grant scoring a suburb goal for beating Alam all ends up.

In 25th minute, Shabbir succeeded to get a short corner but Abbas’s flick was well saved by Aussie goalie by diving to his left. Pak spearhead Kashif Jawwad, unnecessarily trying to use reverse flick ,missed at least three chances. Pakistan mounted pressure for most of the time as Aussies looked a bit defensive in second part of the first half.

Pakistan had it’s 3rd short corner in 30th minute that was again very well placed in the right corner of the net by Abbas to make the score 3-1 that became Abbass’s 199th goal in International hockey. The Aussies like wounded tigers bounced back when Troy elder scored the 2nd goal by placing the ball into right corner of Alam in 32nd minute. The second half saw the score 3-2 in Pak favor.

The Aussies got their 2nd short corner of the match in 44th minute but that was well judged by Aalam. The Australian team however was a well combined team in the second half and put Pakistan under pressure for most of the time. Craig Vitcor missed an easy chance in 55th minute when he failed to beat goalie Alam who had no problem to save the soft push.

Kashif Jawwad committed a blunder of the match by not scoring when Rehan Butt had a brilliant run down along side the right flank and gave pass to Kashf who seemed completely out of touch and couldn’t beat the goalie. The Australian team was putting everything into it to score goals but missed number of chances.

Pakistan however was able to score 4th goal through Khalid Salim to put Pakistan ahead by 4-2 in 63rd minute on move initiated by right out Rehan Butt but the Aussies quickly scored the 3rd goal after a minute by a short corner through Deen Butler in 64th minute to make the score 4-3 . The Australia got their 5th short corner in the last minute when Grant Schbert scored the equalizer for Australia the in the last minute of the match to snatch from Pakistan what should have been a convincing victory .

The Australian coach Barry Dancer termed his team performance as disappointing. “ We allowed to much space to Pakistanis to exhibit their individual skills that put us under pressure but in second half we managed control to game. Pakistan being unpredictable side, put up a good show against us as compared to their performance in Australia in June this year, Dancer said .

Pakistan team coach Tahir Zaman said that our boys played well and I am pleased with their show despite the fact that they failed to hold on to the lead due to what Tahir called in-experience. “Our team is in rebuilding process and I am pleased that we are still in the run for matches to come. One should not take Argentina as easy opponents whom Pakistan face on Sunday in their second match, Tahir concluded.

India lost to Holland 3/4. The Indians were 3/0 up and then let in 4 goals to lose the match and also Pillay was sent off. There have been complaints of poor umpiring.

Excellent performance by our Forward line and Sohail Abbas but euqally defence line crumbled in last few minutes. Anyways all is not lost and lessons should be learnt from this game.

But what a brilliant exhibition of attacking hockey this game was , hats off to pakistan for making experienced aussie line run for thier money :jhanda:

Yes, the complain of only one and crucial bad umpiring is correct. It was a controversial field goal given to Netherland's Floris Evers. The umpire was convinced that ball had crossed the line but television replays were inconclusive. It showed the hit by Floris Evers wasn't from his hockey stick; and that made Indians pissed off, followed by argument of Pillay with Umpire, who sent him off the field, and India left with 10 players on the field. Tough luck there for India. The match was stop for couple of minutes and then resumed.

I think when the controversial goal was awarded to Dutch, the Indians were done for the day, however, the Dutch were looking for Victory and they got when only 5 seconds were remaining of the 2nd half. Man, in the last 6 minutes of the match, the Dutch were in command as never seen before.

However, the match could have been drawn if the controversial goal wasn't awarded to Netherlands, though, it was a great effort from India.

Players who scored for Netherlands

  • Rob Reckers (64the minute)

  • Taeke Taekema (65th minute)

  • Floris Evers(69th minute)

  • Ronald Brouwer(70the minute)

Players who scored for India

  • Jugraj Singh(44th minute)

  • Deepak Thakur(50th & 62nd minute)

Next Matches on August 17th:

  • Argentina vs Pakistan

  • Australia vs Holland

  • India vs Germany

Holland once again show they are the team to beat after overturning a 3-0 deficit in the last six minutes  to win 4-3 :jhanda:

I just saw the match, I think we should have been the winners. Well, once again this was brilliant field attack play, and full commendations to Sohail Abbas with his two gems!

Did you guys notice that they now allow shooters to use a different hockey stick before a corner? Sohail Abbas is using that to his full advantage.

Also, thanks to kashif jawed for missing three golden oppurtunities, and someone please tell him not to use those reverse shots that he is so fond of!

Also, the Dutch have proven that they know how to bounce back into the game, and Pakistan should take care of that, just like they to Australia, they could throw the game to Holland too, so they better watch their defenses. In the end, if Pakistan is winning, they should opt for a defensive pattern rather than going all out to attack like they usually do in the last minutes.

What a thrilllling match!!

Holland :k::hula: :k:

Too bad for the Pakistani draw, Insh’Allah next game they’ll win

Alright I just checked, there are still tickets available for the Tuesday match in Amsterdam (Pakistan-Holland)

Now that’s a match I CAN’T miss!!

:hula:

gd stuff shown by the pakistanis... lets hope they r able to take the next game.
