Hats off to Zee-TV!!! We will be watching India vs Pakistan hockey!!! Cricket na sahee tu hockey challey gi!!!
Very negative attitude from the coach here.
Your aim should always be to win and take first place, not third.
Who the hell is the Tahir guy, I've never heard of him before.
Kick his ass out of the team, and get a new coach.
Pakistan hold Olympic champs Netherlands to 4-4 draw
LAHORE: Pakistan senior hockey team held the Olympic gold medallists and hosts the Netherlands to a 4-4 draw in a practice match in Amstelveen, according to the information provided by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) here Wednesday.
Pakistan team management tried out many combinations mainly relying on relatively less experienced and young players in order to give them the exposure before the 25th edition of the Champions Trophy that is due to start on August 16.
**The positive note of the match was that Pakistan scored all of their goals during the field attacks. :k: Center forward Kashif Jawwad netted two goals, Sameer Hussain the third one while fourth goal was scored by spirited Shabbir Hussain. **
Pakistan take on the Netherlands in the next official test match before the start of the silver jubilee event where Pakistan take on Australia in their opening match. The participating teams are: Pakistan, India, Netherlands, Germany, Australia and Argentina.
Good start!
Good start.

Just a question, is Zee TV only broadcasting India vs Pakistan match or all the matches in the tournament.

Zee TV is showing all the matches. As far as if willow tv is worth it or not, its hard to say. If you are a die hard hockey fan than willow is worth it as they have the replays of all the matches there and you can see the replays anytime you want to. But I'd rather just get Zee TV for a month and record the mathes. It's cheaper to get Zee for a month compared to paying $34 for Willow TV.
I can not wait, thanks to teaser bhai, in few days I will be getting my proper equipment to watch free channels.
I haven't seen a live hockey match in 8 long years, I have only seen highlights in the news.
Its going to be exciting.
^ how can u watch free channel???
if i subcribe Zeetv for one month.. is thr any agreement? or we can cancel whenever we want?

‘Win at Holland will be a huge boost for Pakistan hockey’](http://www.jang-group.com/thenews/aug2003-daily/16-08-2003/sports/s12.htm)
AMSTERDAM: Victory in a major tournament can bring back glamour in the game at home and it is the common thought of the Pakistan hockey team management that producing productive results in the elite six-nation Champions Trophy in Holland can also infuse a new life in hockey which is struggling to regain its glorious past.
“It is bitter reality that we have not won a tournament since long and that is the reason people have less interest in hockey and we firmly believe that winning a major title will help in the revival of the game,” said manager Abdul Rasheed Junior and coach Tahir Zaman on Friday ahead of team’s inaugural match against Australia here today.
Junior said Pakistan hockey desperately needs involvement of the people which can only be possible if team is showing favourable results in tournaments and such achievements can bring back people to the game and motivate the youth to take it as a profession.
“If a team is producing victories it gains the status of a star team like our teams was in the past in 70s and mid 80s but if a team is without a name it fails to get the interest of the people and our main concern is to motivate it to the top level for ending a victory drought,” he maintained.
Rasheed said he faces a challenging task after appointed as a manager of the team recently but ruled out the possibilities of being under pressure.
“Being a manager or a coach is not a new thing for me I know my job and I have done similar assignments in the past to best of my abilities and experience and I am quite optimistic that we will do better in the tournament,” said the former Olympian who was the manager of the victorious team which won two major titles in a year in 1994, World Cup in Sydney and Champions Trophy at Lahore.
The manager dispelled the impression that Pakistan’s hockey has reached to a point where its return to the path of success was not possible, saying that losing tournaments does not mean end of hockey for any team and Pakistan team in the past three years showed contracting results, some time showing high class performances, some time unpredictable run by losing to lowly rated teams of the world.
“My prime objective is to maintain consistency in the performance of the team to end the era of uncertainty which has lowered the image of the team and I am very positive that in near future we will accomplish this task,” he said.
Team coach, Tahir Zaman, said the team was fully focussed on its first assignment against Australia, which beat them in two-back-to-back tournaments in Down Under during a build up of the Champions Trophy this summer.
But all depends how they play in the match and how accurately they (players) follow the technical advise of the team management. He(Tahir Zaman) rejected a questioner that Pakistan will be having benefited as world champions Germany has entered its B team in the tournament.
Champions Trophy is the toughest tournament as six best teams are playing and if there is a B team playing, it does not mean that we can write them off and say we stand all the chances to win the gold as there are other four best teams around.
