I do believe celebrating the conversion on a TV show was a bit of an exaggeration though, but well we all know what kind of anchor MAYA KHAN is, now dont we? Just as someone said, religion/faith/conversion are individual matters, but obviously in the same breath, such individual instances should not be imposed on the face of the society in general. Not every other hindu is converting to Islam here (by force or what) or there wouldnt be this extent of a show made out of it. Lastly, when the boy just said he is willing, what the mess then? I believe its just creating a mountain out of a mole.
Read the plight of Burmese Muslims, and not only this, there are numerous parts of the world where muslims are treated inhumanly. DO we really see such an example and minorities treated as such in Pakistan? Cut it out now. We have ministers from the minorities and I believe a LARGER portion of the country not only listens to them rather respects them also.
Even if media is trying to belittle the Burma issue by such a biased coverage, its utterly useless and stupid.
i think its a good news we should take it positively ,there's no harm to any minority if some christian or hundu converts to Islam ,Islam is a religion of peace,ppl who think that by showing someone embracing Islam on Tv channel might erupt intolerance,i think they should reconsider their statement!

At the same time glad to note per BBQs post Muslims are persecuted in India while things are hunky dorry across the border - since being an Islamic state makes preferred status of Muslims a good thing. being a Muslim i feel happy for the person who chooses Islam the religion of peace for him,and i also don feel bad for those who are still hindus or christians as they have evry rite to do wht they want…if the person chooses that he want to convert infront of the whole country then its his choice otherwise he could have embraced Islam,in a mosque,here in Ksa there are times wen some non muslim embraces Islam in a mosque the whole of the Muslim present at the prayers come and greet him,shake hands wid him feel happy for him cause he has choosen the rite path wich will benefit him …i think ppl should pay some attention to the programs on wich Jinns n Jinnats are called and the host do the running commentry in the background,ppl should say something on the vulgarity in our dramas, and other programs..
Notice how you easily believe anything that is being reported on persecution of muslims. However, you don’t think minorities are treated that bad in Pakistan. Majority bias! Muslims of Pakistan, those little angels, have made life hell for many people but it’s not that bad because you aren’t on the receiving end of it.
