Hero Burgers / Halal fast food in GTA

It’s fast food. We usually get the burgers, the shawarma is okay- but you need to sit there and eat otherwise it gets soggy and it’s just in a strip mall (last time I went).

Did you know that Hero Burgers (the chain) and there’s one in Sherway is halal

Those are yummy hamburgers!

Yeah, tell me about it! There is one on Britannia and Creditview. A must reccommend for all.

8 oz of thick, juicy, grilled, 100% angus beef and that too halal? :stuck_out_tongue:

I always used to pass by and just the name kind of turned me off. but after my friend insinuated me to drop by there, I have been there twice already. (Without him offcourse. ;-)) Lol.

As for the Karachi boy fast food:

Never heard of it. Where is it? and like Muzna asked: what is on the menu?

Re: Karachi Boy Restaurant

You lucky son of a gun people …

halal burgers :bummer:

We have halal steaks as well! Has anyone been to Ruth Chris Steakhouse on City Centre Drive? If you call ahead, they’ll prepare halal steaks :yummy:

Kara mia at Dixie and Eglinton is the best when it comes to steaks.

In the same plaza, Baamiyan is allright too.

Bamiyaan, I like. I find it's very good value for the money. But goodness, it is always busy.

Have you been to Ruth Chris? Trust me, steak the way it's meant to be.

I've never been, but I've heard of Alfie's (I think that's what it's called) in the east end - any reviews for it - is it worth the drive?

I think there is a Ruth Chris Steakhouse in NYC as well
&…wonder if they do halal…

I heard outback steak house has halal stek…

Never went to Ruth chris. Good reviews though. No idea about Alfie's either..

There is another equivalent of Baamiyan called Pamier kabob at Hurontario and County court. The guy used to work at Baamian and now runs his own place. Much better sitting arrangement having leather seats for sensitive people.

Not a lot of people know about it. But it is as good as Baamian if not better.

Hero burgers i’ve heard (not confirmed yet) have a mix halal / jhatka menu. If true, i wouldnt trust such a place.

Also their halal is certified by ISNA, which again makes things a bit doubtful.

Ruth Chris is a large chain - they're restaurants all over North America. There is only one cut of steak that is halal. So I'm not sure whether the NYC would be halal. But worth checking out...

As long as we pay for halal. :)

There are two KFCs that sell halal as long as the meat is on bones.

  1. Hurontario and Eglinton.
  2. Winston Churchill and Dundas.

Only the chicken pieces at those KFC's are halal so yeah meat on bones. The rest of the menu (burgers etc) is jhatka. And the chicken pieces are Maple Lodge halal, i.e. 100 chicken a minute mp3 playin halal.

Re: Karachi Boy Restaurant

actual aliph saheb…for some it is not about what you pay for…when you have the knowledge then you are obligated to investigate.

And it seems that Aliph saheb has an interest of sorts in Hero… :faizy:

anyways…

Ruth’s Chris’ is amazing food…been there lots of times…however…their halal may be the same as Hero’s if it is Angus Beef…so now I have doubts that it is certifiably halal…as per Cheeg’s assessment…and I unconditionally trust Cheegs.

Bamiyaan is good but I think Pamier is better.

Lol. First time in 16 years having burgers and that too 8 oz. I am just jolly.

Pamier is better. I agree.

In my opinion, the halal certificate is enough and for some it may not be. As long as I know, there is nothing out there that says those certificates are misrepresting facts, I am fine byt it. Not going to debate on it further.

IS IT? is it in Sherway malls ? or somewhere near? tell me tell me

btw guys went to Karamia (eglinton and dixie). EXCELLENT food. Specially their steak .. yum yum! A bit pricy but worth it ..

Inside Sherway Gardens Mall (which by the way is the best mall in T.O.)

Not really. Well, it depends on for what kind of shopping. :p

I refuse to go to Yorkdale, Square One is a nightmare, though it used to be my old stomping grounds when I went to UTM. Eaton Centre is okay (close to work so it's convenient).

I can go to Sherway without wanting to do bodily harm to the teenyboppers who mall-crawl.

LMAO.

Pet peeve eh?

I've been known to use a sharp elbow to get the shrieking girls out of my way.

But I digress, and we've derailed the thread. So sorry OP.
