Well i know personally a hindu girl in my town who was forced to get married to her uncle in India.
I read a story in my local paper of a Sikh girl being forced into marriage but these stories here and there don't change the fact that over 60% of the forced marriages in the UK are being done by Pakistanis as opposed to Indians.

thats only thing u read? nothing else?
u dont read about 200 million people treated as animals oh sorry worse then animals in India?
oh i bet u dont read that.
u dont read Kashmiris being killed in Indian Occupied Kashmir and women raped?? Ohi bet u dont read that. U dont read 90 % of Muslims being discriminated?
U did not read not see it on television indian farmers wifes being sold for money?
No of course not u are busy with finding anti pakistani article to post here i know.
You don't lash out at others on the board who bash on the West, Israel, and India. Are you just offended because you can't handle the criticism Pakistan gets? It's not my fault Muslims continue to bring cultural baggage to the West and can't integrate.
In your mind, it's okay to condemn non-Muslim women as whores, those who do not wear the hijab as sluts, all Israelis as 'murderers', and Indians as "cow-worshippers".
Take a look before condemning me.
Well i looked 100 times and each and everytime i disagreed with you after comming to conclusion that you are biased.
Wow, I post one fact and I get that knee-jerk response lol perhaps if we weren’t so defensive and actually dealt with issues rather than trying to divert attention away from them Muslims in the UK would not be in the mess we are in, amongst the least educated, the most likely to force our kids into marriage etc. etc. Being able to see and trying to correct our faults is a positive trait, not something to be ashamed of.
Oh, and where have I posted anything anti-Pakistani?? If u mean the link I just posted to the study about cousin marriages in the Life + Relationships forums (http://www.paklinks.com/gs/life-relationships/364698-earnest-help-needed.html) perhaps u should take it up with the doctors and scientists rather than ranting at me.

Please provide the source of this information. Thanks.
‘Foreign Secretary David Miliband said in a newspaper article on Sunday that the UK’s Forced Marriage Unit (FMU) had handled more than 1,500 reports so far this year.
And **according to the FMU, 65% of all known cases of the practice in the UK involve people of Pakistani origin.’
‘The British government estimates that** two-thirds of forced marriages of British nationals are linked to Pakistan,** and many of them involve poor families in remote rural areas.’
'According to Home Office statistics, 85 per cent of victims of forced marriages are women, aged 15-24, 90 per cent are Muslim and 90 per cent are of Pakistani or Bangladeshi heritage.’
Remind you, it is a cultural thing, not religious at all.
Also up until 1900 even Europe had this practice commonly performed.
It is violation of human rights and should be condemned and abolished. Not saying it is not a problem. Also the arranged marriages get confused with forced marriages since the word ‘coersion’ or ‘pressure’ can be used loosely.
The highest number of abortions in the world for baby girls is in india. Why? Because mostly they fear the girls will bring a bad name to the family.
Female infanticide/foeticide is a big problem in India, but the reason you have given i.e. will bring bad name to the family just shows your ignorance.
People prefer sons because of certain misplaced beliefs like sons take care of the parents in their old age while daughters get married and go away. Plus a lot of people are scared of the dowry that they would need to pay for a girls marriage while if they have a son, they would get dowry.
If you’d bothered to read the articles properly you’d see the quoted numbers are from government statistics (check out the UK Home Office Website if you don’t believe me). Or maybe you’re suggesting it’s a conspiracy to make Muslim desis in the UK look bad? The numbers are compiled from cases they’ve dealt with so obviously that 90% Muslim number has been reached from the 65% odd of girls (and boys) they’ve dealt with from Pakistani families and 25% from Bengali families. If you can’t get your head around simple logic and maths like that u should prob go back to school. Cherry picking the odd story here and there from the BBC involving an Indian or non-Muslim to try and support your argument (yes, of course it happens in many communties but the vast vast number majority occur in Pakistani families in the UK) against hard facts and official statistics is foolish and makes us Muslims look like we cant handle the truth.
Oh, and of course it’s a cultural thing seeing as tho forced marriages are haram in Islam but that doesn’t change the fact that in England it’s mostly us Muslims doing it. Maybe if the mosques spoke out a bit the problem might be reduced but unfortunately it seems like most ppl just want to bury their heads in the sand.
*NEW DELHI: It would have been a familiar ending to a familiar story. Three years after a young couple fled their village in Haryana from families opposed to the ``same-gotra’’ union, the girl’s family allegedly killed the 22-year-old man and locked up their daughter to be repeatedly raped by her relatives and their friends. She would have been killed too, say cops, but the gritty 21-year-old escaped from her captors and approached the police, turning in her father and other family members. *
The gory turn of events began on Diwali day in Narela, outer Delhi, where the couple was tricked into joining a friend for celebrations. Police has arrested four people — the girl’s father Daya Singh (50), her nephew Sandeep and his friends Pawan and Inderjeet — for the alleged ``honour killing’’ of her husband. They are also looking into claims by the girl that she was confined and raped by Sandeep and his acquaintances from October 17 to 22 when she managed to flee.
As said before, these kind of evil things happen everywhere in the world, so why targeting a specific group only?
