I don’t know about Dr Shazia. But I took an epidural in both deliveries ( not in Pakistan). After that you won’t feel the internal exams or the water breaking procedure. Even in Pakistan in larger hospitals at least they try to do non emergency c- sections with epidurals. At least in Karachi, epidurals for childbirth have been around for almost 20 years.

But it is said that they won’t give you epidural until you are 5cm dilated, and what before that? Most of the times they break your water right in the beginning. Getting epidural too early will slow down the process and will lead to c-section.
