From article...are you sure that the lines themselves aren't of fiber? I don't know much of it myself other than that there is fiber optics involved. Like I said, I only know how a DC circut works. Bring me to anything above and beyond that and I'm lost.

yep.. coz the only feasible way to do that is to make smaller Wi-Fi cells and build more broadcast towers in each area. of course lines to the tower is fiber optic.

But its saying that bringing fiber optic lines to homes is the better way to go...
So then there must be wires coming into our neighborhood that are fiber optics - that's what it says in plain english.
