Re: Height of hatred in Indians towards Pakistanis..
How sweet. Whenever there's a thread talking about how maliciously intolerant Indians are towards Pakistanis, quickly change the topic to make Pakistanis look like bigger culprits. How convenient of you to randomly start talking about 'holocaust' and history when the topic is Pakistani family spending a night on streets in a diverse cosmopolitan city like Mumbai (not some village or town)?
India and Pakistan had went on four wars, India at one point considered bombing Pakistan's nuclear sites, Pakistan lost half of their country due to openly admitted Indian intervention. So please before lecturing anyone about the so called "perceived Indian threats", read the actual **history of the region, **and educate yourself just how real Indian plotting against Pakistan had always been!
We'll leave Kashmir, Siachen, Balochistan, FATA for some other day!
I haven't changed the topic at all. Just shown a different side of it.
I'm sorry that you can't broaden the circle of thought enough to be able to see how the two things are related.
I havent seen any curriculum in the enlightened west teaching about the partition and the blood shed that followed. While Holocaust is taught in great detail the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is painted as necessary to end the war to hide the shame of killing hundreds of thousand innocent civilians . It is all about perspective. How many people were killed in these two bombings in one blow?
I have. In fact it's something that has been addressed in my daughter's classroom and was also discussed in my own several years back.
Now what do we do? Your observation is different from my experience. Who's right now?
Go on any online forum and see the hatred spewed by Indians against Pakistanis. They are no angels as you are trying to paint them. With the current anti Islam hysteria in the west, indians have been in the fore front riding on the tail coats of the west to defame Islam and Pakistan.
What have you got to say about this incident which showed the love of Indians for Pakistanis. Maybe fault of the couple to go to Mumbai?
It's pretty infantile to suggest that I'm trying to paint them as angels. I've merely shared my personal experience. I'm not naive enough to think that the entire Indian population shared the same sentiment as the small city in Punjab where my bhabhi's family came from. Nor am I misguided enough to believe that all of India hates all of Pakistan.
In terms of the incident being discussed, it's horrible how they were treated. And it's worse that the hoteliers can get away with this sort of behaviour.
By the same token I do have to question how many people of Pakistani origin or ties travel to India repeatedly (and there are many in my personal circle) and do not face the same sort of discrimination.
As for the forums where Indians are spewing hatred against Pakistanis, it doesn't take much to find the same happening in Pakistani forums so I guess neither side is immune or better than the other. Look at this thread......nobody is willing to even consider that this incident may be reflective of a small percentage with the thousands and thousands that travel to India all the time. We just want to damn the country and anyone who might show the other side while turning a blind eye to the hand we may have in creating the situation.
Carry on.
