Here is one of my HDR shots that I took an hour ago. You can read more about HDR here: High dynamic range - Wikipedia for understanding what it is.
Used Canon 40D and Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) of the following values -1 , 0 and +1 , so that I would get 3 shots. Kept the ISO as low as possible to have minimum noise in the images, and used a remote shutter on single shot mode.
After I had the 3 shots in RAW, I used CS3 to merge and create the “HDR” and did some tone mapping to obtain the final result as I wanted.
good compile, you should've used a background no? But still looks awesome!
flickr has some awesome HDR shots too!@
good work!
yes flickR has some HDR pools, I am there. But HDR is a technique that takes time to master, its not so easy, the 2nd part when it comes to tone mapping is more difficult than the first part where you just compile the raw exposure shots.
The background was white, its the shade resulting from the slave flash and the color of the bottle which leaves on the background, usually u dont use flash with AEB (the inbuilt flash will never work on AEB), however u can use external flashes like 580ex because they can be controlled (mainly for indoor shots). So that is what I did.
Thanks for liking, I am just trying to learn it : - ) Hopefully will get better.
Orpheus, u only work with uncompressed formats whew doing HDR / tone mapping so yes I worked with RAW, but ofcourse the final image was converted to 8bits/channel JPEG for posting purpose.
A statue of the Little Mermaid sits on a rock in the Copenhagen harbour in Churchill Park. This small and unimposing statue is a Copenhagen icon and a major tourist attraction.
*^ in HDR its not the camera much that plays the role, its more the technique of taking different images with seperate AEB values so you can get like 3-6 exposure shots and combine them and tonemap them to a HDR (High Dynamic Range). Since flash is not fired using AEB you need to have a lot things correct if you want a good HDR with the perfect exposure blending.
ok soo if its not the camera quality i will share my stuff too .....cuz i have not so high quality nice pictures too taken by me :) ....no offense i was just kidding really like ur pictures :D
