Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
Ergo in the context of time nothing is moral.

Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
In the context of time, morals generally improve, rather than deteriorate.
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
No they don’t. You know why because you are making a qualification here while earlier you stated that morals aren’t timeless. Thus there is no constant point where you can assess they improve or deteriorate. You would have to establish a point of origin and state that from here they get better or they worse.
But since they aren’t timeless and constantly change you can’t have a point of origin as according to you morals are constantly in a state of flux and change.

@eastern11](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/members/eastern11.html)
just read few of you post.
I hope you did not take a huge loan to go to uni.
If you did its money wasted. ![]()
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
Wow. And people say I am harsh!
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
Sorry I could not help. When people don’t what they are thinking. Or what they want to think.. its kind of waste of money.
Just tired of retardness and dishonesty people show around this topic.
Lies upon lies upon lies. I guess having no God means you can lie your @#$ off and play games.
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
We already established a point of origin (7th century) in this context. Morals of man has improved and not deteriorated from the 7th century to today (21st century). Because man’s conditions, enlightenment and intellect have progressed between those two time periods.
My whole point has been that you can not implement norms of the 7th century in today’s societies, and expect that to be a recipe for success.
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
Completely uncalled for. The discussion can remain civilized even if people disagree. I don’t think anyone has been insensitive. And I do agree this is a sensitive issue, which must be handled delicately.
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
Why the 7th century?
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
Because its the century in discussion, ie the century which’s norms are being challenged and compared to the norms/morals of today? I really don’t see where we are going with this. Inserting norms of the 7th century into today’s societies, generally don’t yield favorable results.
I might get back to this tomorrow, if I feel that we are actually working towards something tangible, otherwise you are obviously free to disagree with me. Too late over here.
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
no.
you want this topic to go on for more cheap shots. only if you non believers had 1/10th of the honesty of what other group shows.
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
I apologize if I made any offensive remarks. But I was not going for cheap shots, nor were I being dishonest.
I believe you owe eastern11 a bigger apology.
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
I can apologize to to you and theo… because you guys have an angle on this…
That was my advice to her. she should listen ![]()
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
So basically you are saying morality improved when the West went on a rampage, committed mass genocide, eradicated civilizations, committed mass rape, destroy cultural heritage and enslaved a few continents compared to the 7th century?
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
And why do you say that?
BTW, no, I did not take any loans. Paid and am paying out of pocket Alhumdulilalh! Academic wise did always great and still am 4.0 student. Learning wise, I have always helped others and still am in big major things in life . Helping others is something that I have taken away from education and religion Not like the average desi who goes to university only to get the best degree to earn the highest amount of money possible and indulges in ritualistic religious practices only. Oh yes, the average desi gives lots of money to charity if they can afford it but do they go and help others physically? Very few do!
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
Where did I ever say I did not believe in God or Islam? Yes, I do not like or question a few concepts but nowhere have I said that I am a disbeliever.
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
What advice?
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
You are a very nice person! Thing is nowhere was I disrespectful. I did not attack those here who do not believe at all and neither did I attack those who are hardcore religious zealots. I think of myself of a moderate Muslim who is more into the practical side than the ritualistic side.
I know I am deeply intelligent, only those who are sub par attack others. Enough said.
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
@Southie I see we have your interest.
please let me know.. think and answer.
I see you are very proud of your morals etc..
Would you know who you are if there was no TV ?
If you did not see tv if you did not see all info and news, and thought oh… I dont like this
so I am not that… oh I like this so I am that…
would you know who you are if it wasn’t for TV etc…
Re: Have you ever questioned your belief?
