Yes, true, there is no slavery any more but the fact that the ISIS is doing so and has come out with a pamphlet quoting why it’s permissible from Quran and Hadith makes my blood boil for those yazidi girls. Of course, what those people are doing is very wrong and even they are flouting their own rules by having multiple men raping one girl ( their own rule book says it’s not allowed according to Quran and Hadith).
They can quote all they like the fact is countless Muslim leaders, teachers and alims have spoken out against ISIS. There is nothing that they are doing that is Islamic in any way shape or form. Unfortunately people who don’t know Islam will think its true. Honestly I think the only way to deal with ISIS is obliterate them off the face of this planet.
It’s amazing what people will justify in the name of religion but would otherwise be completely against it if it were to happen to them. If I were a slave girl or a POW, I wouldn’t still want to get it on with my master and have his children. That would indeed be rape if it were to happen anyway! Hypocrisy at its finest.
But you are not.
You can not possible imagine it neither can I.
As I said it has played out, all women minus disable were freed most probably with family and a support group.
I agree at first glance we could not see any thing coming out of such order.
But it DID.
Some might call such thing divine wisdom.. you know…
BTW reading prophet’s biography my self like many historian stay without words completely
dumbfounded, to see how things worked.
Why don’t you read truce of *hudabia, *and how it played out.. my question is why hell every thing brought results.. which helped established last message..be honest to your self.
PS: dont over look and , this rule played out and women took that opportunity and were freed. in case you decide to answer.
Respectfully, there is no contract between a Slave and master. A contract is entered with free will. A slave by definition has no free will. It sounds as a slave in Islam was a desirable position ( except of course to be with the holy Prophet ( SW) but if it was so then freeing a slave would not have a reward. It seems that a slave would want to be freed.
I think if you had been handed to Rasullullah as a “gift” in that sense and you flat out told him you don’t want relations with him and you want to be reunited with your husband, he would not touch you and he would probably try to get your husband to sign up for a peace treaty, get your husband to agree to stop trying to kill and persecute muslims, agree to religious tolerance towards muslims and agree to stop conspiring with kuffar tribes of the time to commit GENOCIDE against a small newbie group of believers in one God, and he would hand you back to your husband.
Right this is my understanding of it too. You’re still under contractual obligations to a woman you’re co-inhabiting with. You can’t just have sex with her and throw her away. Let’s say tomorrow she becomes muslim, now you’ve stolen her chastity so how is that right?
And anyway even if she doesn’t convert, still Wrong to rape her.
These are such common sense sort of things. Makes no sense why any group like ISIS would create new rules that let them rape women and why we even assume there is a valid basis for this in Islam. Pretty sad when we have to justify our Prophet wasn’t a rapist.
There is a contract because the Quran has specified legal contractual obligations the man has towards the woman in the case she is in position of farm slave or POW.
Excellent post. If there wasn’t such a stigma, taboo and even threat of violence associated with abandoning ones inherited beliefs, I think more people would dare to start at the point you mentioned, ie its all false and willingness to apostate if it does not make sense to you.
My contention is why assume the women would be willing to be prisoners in the first place. It’s fine that a slave is supposed to be treated nicely but what the slave wants to be set free there and then? Would it be allowed? No! As for guardian and wali. I don’t want no guardian no wali forcibly taking care of me.
Regarding the Holy Prophey ( SW) let’s remember he was not the only one taking these slaves there were common Muslims too who would not be inclined to be so kind .
I agree. Not only that, different sources hold different opinions about Muhammad’s wives. Many sources say a couple of his wives were only concubines who he never married while other Islamic sources say he did marry them. -___- Either way, I don’t like it.
Right because non-Islamic sources at the time have completely historical and research validity and more importantly have irrefutable standards of credibility.
^No, Zafra. I am not thinking that at all. I am just amazed how well y’all seem to know someone who existed 1400 years ago and anybody who says otherwise is wrong. Don’t put words in my mouth.
I don’t think there is any difference in opinion about Rayhana (RA) among the majority of Muslim scholars ( that she was not married) But the thing is it doesn’t matter whether The Holy Prophet (SW) was married to them or not as it’s allowed in Islam to keep them. Yes, as Muslims we believe he was kind to them and the concubines were fighting amongst themselves to be chosen but what about the ones who belonged to other Muslims? Especially those who came after many years. A slave is a Slave is a slave. A doubt it was a coveted thing, otherwise freeing one would not be a reward.
It was also a common thing among people to keep slaves whether or not they belonged to any religion.
Thing is I do not believe crimes against humanity are justified in any era no matter what religion you belong to. People who commit hate crimes against Muslims are despicable too.
first thing first, I apologize for some thing harsh I said yesterday.
Theo, he is the most documented man in history. So who wants to know can know him.
Can I ask you some thing, you don’t have to answer if you don’t feel like. Were you or your parents ever orthodox Muslims ?
You posts seems very basic information about islam, not information which can prove our or your point, but general basic information. Reason I ask, we gave answers assuming that.
If you or family never were orthodox muslims, then we are getting run around for no reason.
Well here is the thing. One has a source of information and the other has the idea that those sources are incorrect based only on personal whim and fancy.
