it was a secret cermony, MM and I were unable to invite many people for obvious reasons

I got haq meher from her and she got jehez from me

i add both haq mahar + salami ( cash i got from relatives at wedding) together and bought gold jewellry to wear in my hands ( i did it right away so that i won't spend it ) and everybody agreed.

I still have mine sitting in my pouch that I used at my nikkah.. I also have my tissue papers in there that I used that day :D

I plan to keep that haq mehar saved forever.. It was my husband's first gift to me :)

I think I will do that too, also because I canno tthink of a good reason to spend it. Maybe pass it on to my daughter/daughter in law (if i ever have them InshAllah)

so whats the formula? engagement rings are like 2.5 months salary... zakaat is 40th portion of possessions/income..

mehar had a formula, no? like a year's income?
