Re: Happy Diwali to all Gupshup folks

Kaka!!! don’t you have an Indian association where you live?? and if you don’t answer me…i’ll be really pissed!:grumpy:*

Re: Happy Diwali to all Gupshup folks

Yes we do.. infact i was president of ISA too… but since it is non religious orginazation we cannot celebrate diwali… :frowning:
we changed the constitution and it is open to not only to indians but to people from any nationality…
so no ISA Diwali celebration… we do have cultural event which we call diwali function… but no religious thing is involved

Re: Happy Diwali to all Gupshup folks

what?? why did the organization do that? They could've celebrated all religious holidays. Well many times they have small subgroup associations like marathi association, rajastani, kerala association, etc. Don't you have a group which you belong to like that where you live?

Re: Happy Diwali to all Gupshup folks

well if you live in Louisiana there was a diwali function a couple days ago and i think you missed:(

Re: Happy Diwali to all Gupshup folks

i heard that in other univ's they have different kind of groups but here all the indians (few pakistanis, goras and others) fall under Indian Students Association. But here in LSU other groups are never heard of..
There is another indian association called Aid India but it is a charity/social work org.
I personaly dont like ethnic organization. I believe only ISA should be there.. its not the job of students to organize religious events... let temple do it.
thanks for the conern though indopak.. u are so nice... :|
