Happy Diwali to all Gupshup folks

Happy Diwali to all Gupshup folks.

Diwali the “Festival of Lights” celebrates the victory of good over evil. During the celebration, lamps are lit as a sign of celebration and hope for humankind. It also celebrates the Atman or the inner light (one’s true nature that is meant to be infinite and transcend one’s physical body). Furthermore, the BBC says the name Diwali “comes from the Sanskrit word ‘dipavali,’ or ’ Deepawali" meaning ‘row of lights’’ and the rows of lights “help the goddess Lakshmi find her way into people’s homes. They also celebrate the return of Rama and Sita to Rama’s kingdom of Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.”

Re: Happy Diwali to all Gupshup folks

I went to Mumbai during Diwali last year and it was like a week long celebration of firecrackers....It was so awesome. Plus, it was my first Diwali in India and completely enjoyed it!!
Diwali's on the 9th this year isn't it? I remember last year Eid and Diwali came around the same time :)

Re: Happy Diwali to all Gupshup folks

btw no real diwali for me too for last 6 years... yesterday i went to some diwali party and they were doing lots of fireworks... smell of explosives after a long time made me nostalgic...
even the smell of Indian food never made me so much nostalgic as much as the smell of barood did :(
