"Slut" parties glorify the slut identity. It's making it seem like this is something we should want to be, just behind closed doors. There is no elegance, sophistication, and class in it. It is women being demeaned and degraded and saying they love it.
There is no dignity in it.
I once saw an FB group called "HO-jabis" and I found it disgusting.
I'm sorry, but if you wear hijab, you have a responsibility to show it some respect.

You know how celebrities say that I'm not a role model but they chose the life they have. In my opinion, the hijab is not a choice. It's a command. So I didn't choose to wear the hijab and become a role model. I was commanded by Allah to do so. And if the non hijabis don't follow this command, I don't look down on them and feel as if they let me and my religion down. Because I know we're not perfect and there are probably other things this girl does that gives her sawab. Maybe even more than me.Everyone should just look at each at eye level instead from down below or up above. Peace out. No need to write about this in my blog. :)

Its kind of shocking and sad to how desi women are taking so much pride in "slut" dressing acting "slutty", how its supposed to be such a cheerful thing. It makes you wonder whether they even know the meaning of such concept because as far as truely all liberal Western women are concerned, they take massive offense in this label; such type of dressing is even looked down even in Western countries...or maybe its just a European thing. I guess someone like Snookie is indeed considered a very appreciated and inspiring figure in America, a trendsetter perhaps.
So men please don't get carried way by reading few posts here, never ever call a Western women who is showing bit of skin here and there a 'slut' or refer to her dressing as "slutty". Few silly and misguided desi girls might start blushing and take it as a compliment (by the looks of it) but you'll land yourself in a big trouble if you say that to a Western woman coz no matter how 'Westernised' their dresses are, how liberal they appear, they don't degrade themselves by using such filthy words and things always go to the next level if they're called slut , especially by men. They have fought hard for years to put this word in its place....so lets not glorify this insult.

but not all people wear a headscarf for religious reasons so you can't really expect all the scarf wearers to act Islamic.

That being said, plenty of desi and non-desi girls jokingly call each other sluts.

Even for those who do wear it because they believe it is Allah's command, I think it is unfair and unreasonable to expect perfection. Many of my friends who wear the scarf for religious reasons have come to it gradually and on their own terms, in ways that have made sense for them. But the point is that they are actively striving toward Allah SWT. I don't feel my earlier comment contradicts that.

BTW, my hubby is one of those men who just don't understand why girls get dressed up when guys aren't around. Silly boys.

I have a couple friends who do hijab, but have ladies-only parties where they dress just as you've described. I am not comfortable dressing that way around women or men, as I feel immodest doing it. But if hijab is important to them and they also like dressing this way, I guess it's not a big deal that they can have their fun.

and ahahaha I understand their 'need' to dress up and be all princessy, I just don't understand why some need to dress up slutty in order to go to a hijab free party.. I'm positive you can have the same fun wearing somewhat decent clothes without a hijab on.. If non-hijabis can, so can hijabis.

I completely understand the position that "hijabis are people too".....never denied that everyone is only human and bound to make mistakes but the whole concept of "I'm following the religion (which implies that a non-hijabi isn't) and don't make me a role model cuz I'm gonna screw up just like everyone else" tends to become a bit lame when non-hijabis are even looking down upon these types of parties....
