I don’t mean to offend you guys in any way but would like to discuss this issue. I went to a hajabi girl birthday party recently and I was quite shocked to see the environment which was similar to a night club. These girls normally wear hajab and abbaya all the time in school, however, they were totally shameless in girls. Every single Pakistani, Arab, and Afghani hajabi girl was revealing her skin to the maximum. My mind can’t seem to accept the big transformation from abaya/hajab to mini skirts, short dresses, back exposed, low-neck clothes, and etc. I don’t wear hajab but I wouldnt feel comfortable in showing my cleavage, thighs, and legs to females that I have never encountered or even if I have known them for ages. My mind and heart won’t allow me to change my personality 100%… Please explain, how can a person see this being modest?..
Re: Hajabi girls going half-naked in ONLY LADIES PARTY...
Be prepared for a lot of people arguing that "well it is a female only gathering they can do whatever they want as long as they aren't doing this in front of non-mehram". Also a few mentions of "sattar" and "modesty" thrown here and there.
Re: Hajabi girls going half-naked in ONLY LADIES PARTY...
lol@thread title..
The Awra of a woman in front of fellow Muslim women is the same to that which is a man’s Awra in front of other men, i.e. from the navel up to and including the knees.
so if they wore sleeve/strap less dresses..that should be alright.
Re: Hajabi girls going half-naked in ONLY LADIES PARTY...
^Exactly..
I think it's more a cultural thing that most of us desis tend to cover up even in the privacy of our own homes, we're taught to not show our bodies full-stop. I think it's nice for girls to be able to let their hair down and glam up the way they want.. I've been to a lot of parties at Arab girls' homes and I think 'half-naked' is stretching it a bit.. Yes, they wear short, strapless dresses etc. but cos we're not used to showing skin even amongst our mehrams it seems more shocking..
Re: Hajabi girls going half-naked in ONLY LADIES PARTY...
^ I believe it was a private party with women only so therefore, no hijab....waise I'm not a hijabi but I attended many girls-only parties thrown by my college MSA back in my college days...most of the girls dressed like "normal" girls, i.e., they wore sleeveless dresses, fun halter tops, knee lenght skirts, some just wore jeans with regular-length shirts (instead of really long ones) or shalwar kameez (because majority of time they wear abaya)...I don't see how it's "changing their personality"?
Re: Hajabi girls going half-naked in ONLY LADIES PARTY...
yeah sara i know what you mean. Same atmosphere during my university days. Except it was guys and girls. And you know what?? nothing happened! Just everyone chillin having a good time. God some people!!!
Re: Hajabi girls going half-naked in ONLY LADIES PARTY…
I don’t really see any problem with this. It would however be very interesting to see a hijabi girl going from hijab to a slutty outfit. Also, I would be too distracted by the beauties. I don’t attend any girls only parties. Apparently, I am a fully clothed pervert checking them out.
Re: Hajabi girls going half-naked in ONLY LADIES PARTY…
I’ve heard of some women wearing just their underwear under niqaab or abaaya but I doubt it’s that common.. don’t think it’s a big deal tho if it’s hot outside.. I know of many who wear mini skirts or shorts underneath..
There was a story a while back about a girl whose burqa got caught in an escalator in London, exposing her underwear
