Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

You have raised some very good points.

Ideally, political parties and leaders should use good governance and genuine service to rule peoples' heart and take the nation forward. However, if one takes examples from history of different nations. Some leaders with corrupt mindset combine religion with politics in order to gain control over masses. Consequently, if someone revolts against them, or refuse to being oppressed, they use the religion card. Simply put, if one reacts against their fraudulent system, they make it look like a reaction against religion, and create extreme violence and bloodshed in the name of righteousness. This manipulation of religion is not something new, and certainly not new to Islam.

However, if the leaders are righteous and dedicated, they can use the same technique of combining faith and politics in order to strengthen the nation, to expand it, to flourish it, to make it successful and prosperous, to put checks and balances, and to gather everyone on one platform. Faith and morality are two very important pillars of good governance.

I wonder how much security and protection the prosecutor and judge will have during the trial of the assassin, and for the rest of their lives afterwards....

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

Liaqat Ali khan
Zulfiqar Bhutto
East Pakistani men and women
Hussein Soharwardi
Benazeer Bhutto

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

This is most like eye wash to make public fool. The ugly guy might be planted by some one who was against the posting of deceased. The Islamic drama in the public is more like maligning Islam as usual these by schemers. NS and SS were deadly against him. They had reputation of eliminating unfavourable persons including their family members in furnaces of Itefaq Foundary.

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

hmm…allow me..

This is done by zardaari…so that they can claim victimhood again…now arrange a couple of jalsa jaloos…and then have some firing/explosion done…so that they become victim fulltime and win the sympathy vote of the publis :faizy:

your turn

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

You guys ever heard of the Occam’s razor. Simplest explanation is often the right one. Why confuse the issue by throwing conspiracies.

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

true but prosecutor or defender????

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

Because as a nation we love to believe every conspiracy theory instead of the truth. No wonder we are in the mess we are. Everything wrong with us is someone else's fault.

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

Because we are angels, we can't do any wrong.

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

does anyone know about his family, and his children's ages? or which children are from which wife? excuse my ignorance, but i was just curious.

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

Qadri, 26, son of Malik Bashir, joined Punjab police and got Elite Force training in 2006-7. He was posted to the Elite Force wing in Rawalpindi in 2008. Qadri, who has five brothers and four sisters, got married three years ago and his first child, a son, was born four months ago.

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

i was very disturbed to hear on the news that his 4 brothers and elderly father were arrested on suspicion of involvement. i do NOT think its right. have some proof first then arrest. u do NOT go around arresting people who have been related or remotely associated with him. its plain wrong!

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

I see that you are not from Pakistan :hmmm:

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

A cold-blooded murder.

This is another stark reminder that Pakistan remains a deeply illiterate and intolerant society esp. when it comes to religion. Now who will ever dare debate sensitive and controversial religious issues such as blashemy law and contraception in future if this is what you receive in return…BULLETS!! This is all the result of religious indoctrination which is inflaming the fires of hatred and intolerance.

It is a despicable act. Now I never liked Salman Taseer because he came across as a crook to me but this is not the way to settle issues. Nothing justifies this cold-blooded murder. Taseer did NOT blaspheme Islam, The Holy Prophet pbuh or The Quran btw. He was just against the death penalty for blasphemy inspired by the case of Asia Bibi. What is so wrong with expressing one’s opinions? Are we such a narrow-minded and backward society that we cannot ever tolerate healthy and enlightened discussions and debates on sensitive and controversial islamic issues?

Even more shocking is the pathetic response esp. from the mullahs who (predictably) saw nothing wrong with what Qadiri did. The most saddening thing for me is that none of the religious leaders condemned the attack

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

:k: media is equally to blame for creating a fervor around this issue and blowing it way out of proportion with all their dramay baazi on talk shows and where was the law when these crazy fanatics were issuing fatwas against taseer and leading people astray with hate speeches? if this can happen to a sitting governor in his own province then god help the truly defenseless joe public.

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

thank God i am NOT…or else i had to hide my face…hehehe…

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

Watch this Video & tell me how Salman Taseer was Wrong?

Listen to Salman Taseer and Imran Khan’s views on the subject. Both are essentially saying the same thing. i.e. they are not against the blasphemy law per se but they want the law to be reviewed to prevent it’s misuse & abuse

Salman Taseer

Imran Khan

Re: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer murdered in Islamabad

Thanks R.Swing for clips.

I first time heard his Taseer`s opinion about that law, and what was his views was not about Toheen e Rasalat but the Law itself which made by Zia and later stricted by Nawaz and he said it a Kala Qanoon to put any one anytime in jail or threat of death by using this law for just some simple personal revenges specially towards minorities, and look how our great mullahs so called schollars bring up this in front of people to make it so emtional to turnup the words to promote angerness in awam. so sad so sad
