Re: Good Wife = Good Cook
I so hate you. So so hate you. Salan is not a problem anymore. Got a lot of practice in Darfur. Zeera aloo I have just given up.
Re: Good Wife = Good Cook
^Awww I couldn't resist man! I still laugh out loud when I think about your cooking (disaster).
Good for you man, if you need any pointers then ask away. I've become a pretty good cook myself nowadays ;-)
Re: Good Wife = Good Cook
It was one hell of a disaster. I think after that Didi decided to give me cooking lessons. Those didn't help either.
However the cute italian girl teaching me how to make rotis. That raelly sunk in!
Tips....hmmm...i may take you up on that, once i am out of here.
CM a cook ![]()
…so the moon really is made of cheese ![]()
Re: Good Wife = Good Cook
Yup. Not to shabby now either. You would be surprised by what kinda of a studly man I truly am!
CM thankyou for convincing me that no matter how old you get. no matter how many teeth fall out, no matter how much hair loss you have…
You will always be a studly man ![]()
(mashallah your confidence refutes all claims laid by man and im sure if studied it would be off the charts
)
Re: Good Wife = Good Cook
depends on her husband, if he likes eating food very much .. she should know it..
Re: Good Wife = Good Cook
Hey when you got it you got it. And most importantly you must show off about it on an internet forum.
I personally, think it is really important for the Husband to know how to cook. I used to love watching the beautiful smile on my Husband's face when he would present me with a buffet of food when he would come home from work on week-days!
Good Husband = good cook... nuff said.
My Husband was a superb cook! Much more creative than me! Hehe! We would cook together a lot too.
But if a wife is a stay-at-home-Mum and Husband goes to work all day, then naturally when he comes home he will be tired. So here I think his wife should cook for him. :)
Re: Good Wife = Good Cook
I would like to share my cooking experience with you all!!!!!
When I got married, I had little knowledge on how to cook desi foods. Most of my cooking part was about BOILING EGGS, Making chai, roti, rice, and the rest was like pastas, chinese, mexican, - EVERYTHING but desi foods... and My hubby preferred desi foods!!!!!!
I think desi foods are the MOST time consuming, from preparation, to masala making and serving and all.
So to learn, I got desi cook books - and boy those were the most frustrating experience I EVER went through. It would tell to use in KILOS, POUNDS, MG, and all the metric systems in the world.
I did not learn from ANY of the desi cook books.
I was working full time too. I would call up mom and ask her - okay mom this is what I want to make today - and what ingredients do I use and how much? So I learned somewhat from this - but it was still not good enough because sometimes the peppers would be too much or something else too little. However, I realized that each time I made it, I learned what was less and more, so next time I would cut it out... it took few years to master, because it all depends on YOUR HANDS-ON experience only.
Sometimes I got frustrated and shouted out to hubby dear - that I want to BAN desi foods in this home - although I love it myself - hehe.
I admire his patients. He said it's okay - you practice your cooking skills on me! and sometimes he too made the Tandoori Chicken or Creamy Chicken - to help me out.
Today I don't need his help! I have mastered it all!
I must thank my hubby for being a part of the "experiment". LOL
that is too sweet :k:
i think it goes the same way if your husband is from a different part of pakistan and likes another style of asian cooking - I had to adjust the way I cooked to suit his tastes but he wasn’t too fussy - and soon I found myself actually liking the food also - but i still cant stand too much mirch ![]()

Hold up...so your Husband comes home from a long days work and presents you with a buffet of food after, everyday during weekdays? Wow! Must be super-chef! Lol. :)
You are really lucky to have such a co-operative Husband. :)
CM i would like to inform you that you have just been diagnosed as having the:
‘if you got it, why not flaunt it’ syndrome - I’ll have to refer back to my notes to see if there are any cures known to man in this department ![]()

Lol at your Husband saying to practice cooking skills on him! Wow, he sounds so sweet, Marshallah.
NJ Masti - you go girl!! :)
Iggle: yes, of course. He is a doctor, so even when he comes home at midnight extemely tired, i expect him to have dinner ready for me..... varna.... :ASA:
Seriously, it's a joint effort. I'll be cooking something, he'll get home and chip in to help... and then takes the credit for the meal :)
But most of the things i cook are his recipes so husbands recipes + wife = good cook :)
they say behind every great man is an even great woman, but in my case, i have an even greater guy backing me :)
Re: Good Wife = Good Cook
I think one of the most fun things to do with your spouse is cook together. My husband cooks amazing desi cook. My speicality is chinese, arabic and snacks.
Cooking "good food" is not rocket science. There are so many shows, books, recipes on the internet.
I would worry more about the personality of the person than cooking skills.
Re: Good Wife = Good Cook
SU nice thread.
I said this a couple years ago and I got bashed by many people men and women alike for saying it…but i still stand by my words…
![]()
" **The way to a mans heart is through his stomach!**! "
and those that deny this to be true…either cant cook or have a wife that cant cook and they are trying to make themselves feel better ![]()
however with that said…OBVIOUSLY there are more things to love then just a woman who can cook…being able to cook does help in the love department…it’s an added bonus…a man will love you more for feeding him.
Just my observation…what do i know ![]()
Re: Good Wife = Good Cook
Well apart from all jokes, the reality is that 'Zindagi ki saari bhaag daor sirf is pait hi kay liyay hai'. If that is not satisfied, no love-shove last very long. Doesn't matter who but one of the spouse has to know or learn how to cook and I mean cook good.
In todays' busy life, both partners have to help each other and get out of this myth of 'yeh aurat ki job hai', 'yeh marad ka kaam hai'...
Re: Good Wife = Good Cook
^funny to hear from YOU!
you started another thread just to COMPLAIN about women. what's wid this niceness today?
You are actually supporting women!
lol - good life should be that way. Never stay angry for long - it's a new day - start with a brand new smile!=)
