one person who should not play for Pakistan ever again is Mohd. Sami.I think he should not have played this test match and niazi should ve been given a chance.And guess what Selectors have shahid nazir for the one dayers .He was by far the best bowler in this test match and you drop him wow.I think selectors should be hanged.

Others: He is referring to the news that Shahid Nazir hasn't been picked for the ODI squad.

That's okay. With Rana Naveed, Shoaib Akhtar, Asif, Gul, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Razzaq, he was not going to find a place in the team anyway :) You wouldn't place him above Naveed, Akhtar, Asif and Gul, right? And even Gul is going to sit out of the ODI team, along with Kaneria.

The thing I can’t figure out is why are we seeing the same names going round and round for the past 5 years. Have other players simply stopped entering the domestic scene? Surely there have to be more openers in Pakistan than just Farhat, Butt, Nazir, Taufeeq and Hafeez. Surely there have to be more lower middle order batsmen in Pakistan than just Kamal, Raza, Iqbal etc.

Once there was a talk about Naumanullah being the next great middle order batsmen but he was never given a chance.

Many given achance have since disappeared…

nazir can be a great bowler for one dayers..he is very economical and swings it a bit...am not sure akhtar is fit enough to play in the one dayers

It is very unfortunate but Malik will be pushed to open once he comes back into this team. Butt should not be allowed near any cricket facility in Pakistan. I think what we missed in batting department was Malik and Asim Kamal. I hope Bari saab will give Asim consideration in next series. This Butt-Farhat-Taufeeq trio will never learn.

I'd like to try a lot of players too, but unfortunately, ICC has restricted us to keeping only 11 players in the team :) So who's you kick out of the ODI eleven to have

He was discarded at a time when we were looking for 'flashy' and "aggressive" batsmen like Saeed and Sohail. Unfortunately for us, we are now trying to get rid of flashy batsmen in search of stability :)

Let me express my outrage as well. If we ever wanted to give Salman Butt and Taufeeq Umar a try again, that would only be against Namibia seriously. My goodness, these guys who have played some 20 odd tests and ODIs still don't know how to keep the wicket.

I also feel ashamed that I supported big time for inclusion of Salman Butt in the team but what a pathetic performance he has showed. I can def. understand a bad patch but God knows how long Butt's bad patch has been. It's been almost since last Winter that he's been giving practice catches in the slip and getting out almost identically many times. My question is that "Does Salman Butt ever wonder to look @ his dismissals?" I mean how many times this heck has happened with him..

Sincerely, Taufeeq Umar was called after a long break so I wasn't really mad @ his early departures. You can't expect miracles from a standby player who's looking for getting in the team only by replacing injured players.

Also, Sami should be discarded atleast for God's sake and for Pak's name. My goodness, he had 3 tests and in none of the 3 tests so far, he couldn't manage one single 5 wicket haul. I mean Shahid Nazir bowled better than him. I don't see any point of keeping Sami in once hopefully M. Asif gets back in.

Faisal Iqbal, well what to say. Apart from his 48 @ Lords, the guy has looked crooked as ever. No confidence what so ever. Inzi, Yousuf and Younis had been brilliant but team comprises of 11 players. I think Kamran Akmal should definitely be mentored psychologically for the rest of test series and ODIs and I seriously believe he's going thru bad patch. Also as it's been in PCB's history to hide injuries, but it's a known fact that he injured his finger in the side game right before 1st test so that might had been a factor in his "droppings" of dollies.

I just read in BBC that M. Asif won't be called for Oval but M. Hafeez would be. I still can't fathom the logic behind if Asif is willing to play, than why not utilize him. I am sure that Shoaib Akhtar is coming back and hopefully we can play for pride and win @ least one game. Man for Salman Butt and our failing prosperity of opening slot, I just wish I can bring 2 players from my galli in Lhr. They will @ least occupy the crease for more time than Butt and Umar.

No credit being taken from England, they batted well and also bowled well. If we continue to bring people like Sami in the side, God knows what kind of goals we'll have in the World Cup.

I seriously believe that once Malik, Rana, Asif and Shoaib come back, we'll have a better fighting unit and plz and once again plz. no Sami and Anjum. We got good bowling in terms of Nazir. Let the poor folk have a run.

We do need to have backup bowlers for situation like current one where Shoaib, Asif and Rana are injured so we don't endup recalling Sami, Rao etc.

Umer: you forgot to include Kaneria failing in the series, in absence of Shoaib and Asif he was the main strike bowler but wasn't able to do as much.
