-That could depend on many factors - #1 being finacial issues at her home or maybe she is working / studying / trying to build a secure career - and THUS lack the maintanence back home girls are able to get for FREE.
-Girls here will be a PRE-PACKAGE deal with many inclusions - such as career, driving, equal thinking, knows the economy, knows the spending expectations, and more importantly be supportive to her parent WITH HER money and NOT YOUR which she will send out via western union anyways if parents were in Pak land and she was a FOB.

So tell me which one still looks good to yo?

Ok so here's what I don't get. Perhaps somebody can explain it to me.

I have noticed a tendency for people to be more image conscious in Pakistan. But I haven't noticed that girls are any more or less beautiful than the ones over here. What I have noticed is that there are women here and there who, if they have the time, money (in most cases), and the resources (good salons, shopping centers, etc.) at hand...they definitely put themselves together well and look great. Then there are the women - again both here and there - who have busy lives whether it's due to school, family, work, or a combination of all three. Lots of them still manage to put themselves together beautifully, but many of them try to keep it simple in an effort to save time.

Also, when we say "beautiful" in this thread, are we talking about those lucky people who look great no matter what, or the beauty that can happen for just about everyone when a person is wearing nice clothes, makeup, accessories, hair, etc.?

Just curious.

^beautiful is someone who naturaly looks beautiful. Someone who just washes off face and it glows. Someone who just puts a simple braid and looks elegant.

Not everyone "back home" is pretty and..
not every desi..abroad is "ugly" (whatever definition of "ugly" is being followed here)

Why dont MARRIED guys make a poll here on GS, which happens to be a mix of 'back home' desis and settled abroad desis...
hopefully that will take care of this weird "discussion' in no time :)

that was exactly my point! astaghfar! i cant believe people would actually sit here and participate in bashing Allah's creation...men bashing "ugly" women...and women..well..they are not any different either..i am sorry..from what i see is the life threads..and real life....a woman's worst enemy is a woman.

I don’t believe that’s true. At all. I can still remember when I was a little girl and my mother would sit me down with a copy of the translation of the Quran. Every day before school we would read from it for half an hour and discuss it and I can still recall that verse where Allah said that He has created us all, that He has created our images and that they are beautiful. Reading that verse changed something for me…before, I was like a lot of people who thought that beauty fits only a certain mold and if a person falls out of that mold, it’s not possible for him/her to be beautiful. But if Allah is saying that we are all beautiful…well, let’s just say that from then on, I tried my best to really pay attention to people and my definition of beauty became very very broad. Does that make any sense?

NJMasti, babes..its very hurtful...you dont know what poor girl is reading this..and getting depressed...all the misery she has to go through in real life..the judging inlaws..to be inlaws..parents..aunties..friends...then the virtual world too? i think the least our generation can do is make an effort to evolve beyond such mentality...i really do..
