I’ve been seeing this trend in my frnds and frnds of frnds (both ABCD and FOB guys) that the folks who went back home to marry have much prettier wives than compared to the ones who married in US.
I’m not saying that girls back home are prettier than ABCD girls. Just had this observation of perhaps prettier girls back home having a better chance of getting married?
Have you folks seen the same trend as well?

From the guy's point of view in arranged marriage situations I think thats one of the few criteria they get to evaluate fairly thoroughly. Of course when you're looking for a life partner, everyone wants the best. And since you usually dont get a chance to choose based on personality and compatibility, its natural that you're going to evaluate based on appearance.

Dont know about beauty but girls in 'western countries' are far more arrogant than those back home.....

very true. i guess it's the environment they grew up in, they take everything for granted. it's like they're on top of the world. many cases on these boards. :)

alot of ppl think girls back home are subservient, docile, wont complain, wont be arrogant or stuck up. etc.

id disagree being "chalak" or otherwise has got nothin to do wid being raised in pakistan.
Apparently some men around here are incredibly insecure and prefer women who don't question their 'authority'. And the same men happen to think Pakistan manifactures those kinda women in abundance. Fool's paradise.

ok now saying girls abroad are arrogant is complete bs and u are more arrogant for saying that. ladies out here are basically genuine, and confident of what they say. No sharmili adain, and pretending to be an angel. We are what we are, we say what's on our mind, and do what we think is right straightforward. And to saying that girls out there are more pretty, to an extent its true, because girls out there get the service of a princess. Mostly don't work, their hobbies and activites include facials, spending time at the salon, or whatever related to looking like a "HOOR PARI". in my opinion girls back home are in more of a pessure to look pretty due to rishta issues. While ladies here work and study and have a far more life compared to them. We basically are ok with what we look like. Now this whole conversation is shallow. and the reason why guys go bak home and get married is cause mostly they screw a lady out here, and label them a wrong character and then go back home for a "PURE" lady. If you happen to read other threads in the life1 its mostly the ladies back home with crazy issues with inlaws and husbands. . . . man why am I even bothering in this pointless thread. Good day.

I understand that there are exceptions to generalizations. ** But I've noticed that girls living in Pak.......are MORE concerned about physical appearance.......and there have been several threads where girls have complained that whenever they visit the motherland.........their cousins in Pakistan bombard them with condescending/insulting comments about physical appearance....."what's wrong with your skin color?"....... "Why are you so dark?"......... "Omg what's wrong with your weight?"......... "OMG you are tooo skinny."....... "OMG you are toooo fat".......... "So n So is better looking than you."....... "Why is your hair fried?"....... "Why don't you wear makeup? Makeup is so important."......... "Your hair has gotten thinner."......... "Pinching your nose will make it thinner"......................................UNBELIEVABLE!!! And the funny thing is that they themselves might have imperfections such as being overweight.........but they won't hesitate to tell you what's wrong with you. At the same time.....they can't handle it or take it if you defend yourself or if you hurl the criticism their way.
I haven't see such behavior among desi girls in the US. When I go to Pak........I don't make such comments. If I don't have anything positive or complimentary to say........I don't say it at all. One time, I asked my mom about why the girls in Pak are more concerned about physical appearance to the point it takes top priority over BASIC MANNERS. And my mom said that....since there are not many career opportunities or other personal development programs for women in the less modern cities of Pakistan.....hence their main goal after education is to look FAIR-SKINNED and pretty.....so that they attract a husband and settle down to married-life.
