Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

why do people wannabe fair?:S...and look like ghosts :S

^ I know!

Haven't you guys realized that 'Tanned skin tone' is in. People actually pay 100s of dollars to look less "fair", and here we are piling our faces with all these god-awful creams in the hopes that we might get a litte lighter.

We are such ungrateful little brats.

no matter what you use, the way karachi’s climate is, even gora people can go kala… :cb:

i spent six months in karachi, and when i returned, my mom refused to (exaggerated obviously!) recognize me because my complexion had darkened so mach and i had gotten so weak.

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

aishii - elipse is IPL (intense pulsed light), it's not true laser hair removal and it's not known to have as good permanent reduction as true laser treatment - but I can't tell you whether it will work or not.
however, from my research, if you're asian, having laser hair removal on the face isn't a good idea anyhow. because of the kind of laser that has to be used on asian skin and the fact that facial hairs (even thicker chin hairs) are not dark or coarse enough for this kind of laser, it either just is not effective or there are complications and side effects that are permanent. Everyone I know who has had laser treatment on the face had ended up regretting it due to scarring etc. personally, I just wouldn't risk it. I have just start started electrolysis myself as this is the only safe and truly permanent way to remove hair from the face. after loads of research this is the method I have selected for myself. but you have to a) be prepared for the cost and b) be committed, as it is a long and slow procedure. the only prob with electrolysis however is that every street has a salon offering electrolysis but true, experienced and registered electrologists are difficult to find.

this is a great forum for anyone wanting to find out more about various types of hair removal:... which it won't let me post as I need to have 25 posts first... type in 'hair tell forums' into google.

First of all the ONLY way to avoid scarring is to STOP picking on u're pimples! Try the cinnamon and honey paste that I've mentioned before. And even equal quantities of lime juice and rosewater (leave it on for half an hour)

Antibiotics do work if u're acne is severe (I blv 20 pimples is acute!) go to u're dermatologist and treat u're acne from the root he may prescribe retin A, skinoren, or eldopaque for the scars.

1.) Please keep u're fingers away from u're face!
2.) Use an anti-bacterial facewash/cleanser
3.) Keep u're hair away from u're face
4.) Change u're pillowcase often
5.) Cure dandruff if u have any.
6.) Use water-based products on u're face.
7.) Drink plenty of water.

Afsoon, I have given a basic recipe for home-made ubtan which u may try!

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

hey , I was wondering if I could get any advice on hair. Im worried because im getting married this year and need to do somethign with my hair.
I had mess with my hair when I went to Pakistan in summer 2006. I took perm products with me to pakistan and thought I ll get it done over there. It was clearly wrttien on the instructions that do not keep the product on your hair for more than 30 minutes. I told her like 100 times, and she was like dunt worry we have asian hair, u wont get any curls if i take it off in 30 mins. so I ended up hacing that product on my hair for 2 hours. and guess what? When i washed my hair, and after naturally drying them, the results were worst, worst, worst.
My hair felt so hard and all. I literally cried ..... lol... I had a photo session that same day for some reason, so I had to use straightening iron to make my hair look a bit better. I know hair straigntening the same day was more damage. But i had no choice left. I couldnt go to that idiot lady again because I had my flight two days after. so I left pakistan. After I got back I always put egg whites and oil on my hair and washed them after 3 to 4 hours. I lost all my shine and everything.
I have had lot of hait cuts since after that. because my hair strated developying white joints on them.
I religiously condition my hair after each wash. thats what my hair dresser told me, that conditioner will get the chemicals out.
but its been 2 years now. My hair seem not to recover. some times they look great. some times they dunt. I always have to use hair straightener after each wash and drying my hair. reason for that is when I wash my hair they are still curly. The curls shape is not good enough that I go out with curly hair. So I always have to use straightening iron.
I was wondering if you guys have any piece of advice so I can have natural shine again and my hair becomes naturally soft.
Thanks

speaking of bleaching et cetera....
I really wish people would get over this complex...the segregation/tension concerning 'white pakis' and 'brown pakis' has become a real issue..i see this happening everywhere..even on eids and milads...its like brown girls hating the slightly gori girls..and making it super obvious...please get over this...and just live your life..there...i said it.... :(

cherrybell....its going to take some time for your hair to recover...stop using the flat iron....give it to the salvation army or something...avoid color..bleach etc.....and let your hair heal...oil it regularly..and if you are worried about how you look...tie it up..and i would especially take care of my new hair and keep it from burning under any hot rods or irons...

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

cut it off.
get half your hair cut off.
2-3 months later, cut more off.

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

gina....do u know anything for colored hair?
cuz last year i coloured my hair...and itna kharab hogea..it looked so dirty..no shine ..nothing...

and soon im going to dye it again...any idea to avoid all that again?

Chanda thank GOD u said it..otherwise I wud have! Ugh! Be more concerned about having healthy skin rathar than going nuts over being fair! Sorry it just bugs me! furious

Cherry, avoid using ANY chemicals on u're hair and use 2 egg yolks and add to it 3-4 vitamin E capsules and leave in u're hair for an hour wash-off as usual and condition u're hair with a GOOD quality conditioner and use a leave-in conditioner as well. 3 times a week apply olive oil to u're hair and leave it overnight.

Malaikah i'm assuming u got highlites/lowlites done and got sum of u're hair bleached for that. Bleach and dye usually makes u're hair dry, lifeless and brittle. Please condition u're hair for about a week before u actually plan on dying u're hair use a deep conditioning treatment/ hot oil treatment and hair repair masks. The after-care is important too, make sure u use products for color-treated hair..

Re: ~ Glowing Brides ~

Hey on this fair complexion thing, i wanted to make a comment.
It is a weird reality in our society that people like fair complexion. You cant blame girls whos want fair complexion. You cant even ask them to be happy with the dark complexion. There is always a pressure from family and the society on these girls.
I have seen examples of my friends. One of them lives with her cousins cuz her parents passed away. She always have a pressure to make her complexion fair than what she has. They are looking for her rishtas and all. She is always been compared with her fair cousins. She is been under depression because of non expected comments on her skin tone, which really became worst when she had hormonal problems due to stress and got acne and acne scars. and again she was asked to pay attention on her complexion.
Its not her fault. She was born with not fair complexion but has really good features and personality. What her fault. How can she be happy with it when other people wont let her be.
When people come for rishtas they want to see gori Paki larkis in front of them. Just wonder how frustrated it is for her. How could one ask the girl to be happy (?)
This has become a societal norm. only us girls cant change it.
