SANGHAR, Feb 23: The cruel custom of ‘karo-kari’ claimed another two lives when two village girls were dragged in the streets and hacked to death by their uncles, accusing them of having tarnished the family’s honour. The girls — first cousins — were buried without any religious rites and the family declined to accept condolences.
The gory incident took place on Thursday in the village of Allah Bux Brohi, near Shahpur Chakar. The two uncles surrendered to police. They said they had done the right thing and felt no remorse.
They told journalists that they had been informed at about midnight on Wednesday that the girls — Farida, 18, and Hamida, 22 — were missing from their room. They went in search of them and found them in a banana orchard with two men who ran away.
The two uncles have been identified as Khamiso Brohi and Imamdad Brohi.
Poor girls, if its was out on the street why people did not try to stop it? the witnesses are as much guilty as these two remorseless uncles.
wth...These freaks put all their energy doing evil acts on women...but when it would come to justice...they'll be freed in a jiffy..as honourable men..
The British were very succesful in combating this in Sindh for a time I heard... It was far more simple for them considering they were outsiders.. For the current establishment, im sure there are those among them who would sympathize with these people... So what can be done about it?

Well, the British also played a role in ridding India of Satti, the practice of suicide by widows on their husbands pire... So its not hard to believe that they may have attempted to ban this aswell.
On the other hand, the as far as I know, the British tried to not get too involved at the village level, and actually helped strengthen the hands of feudals.
Here is a question for you guys though... How would you people have reacted if you were in the position of those two uncles...
Granted, murder would be out of the question, but id be a little pissed of myself.
If I caught two daughters of mine in a banana orchard with two guys, I'd secretly have thanked the Almighty they're normal, and then advised them to make sure they're good men. Sheesh, some of you lot are mad. Completely nuts.
thats the whole point PP1, getting pissed off and keeping the girls in house, doing the proper training/education is one thing and getting pissed off and hacking the girls in the street is totally different ball game.
Shocking...women have always been at the receiving end in this world since time immemorial eventhough scriptures have advocated a very high status for them.
Needless to mention that majority of men have their brains below their navel!!

The police has them now, why aren't such beasts punished in public to make an example?
On the contrary they are hardly ever punished enough, if punished at all...
