Re: Girl Names

Current favorite:

Enaya Fatima
(Fatima is my middle name as well)

Re: Girl Names

I very much like the names “DINA” it means love and “NABIHA” meaning noble/intelligent/honest but again these names were rejected :hinna:

Oh Sahar, so you liked the name Inaya too! I'm glad i put it up! If you read this thread form the beginning you will see that i have linked it to another thread relating to the pronounciation of Inaya. That's the name i have chosen for my baby too she is due in December. I just hope people don't have problems pronouncing it. It's easier to say it with an 'A' but i think 'E' is the correct pronounciation although i would spell it Inaya.

By the way where do you live and when is baby due?

Re: Girl Names

But can you tell me how liyana is of arabic origin

Re: Girl Names

Thanks for bring back the thread. We need names again, for a boy we have a name choosen but for a girl we are looking for a nice name. :-)

Re: Girl Names

has anyone heard of the name Miril? it means rare pearl, but i have only read it in english, and i can't figure out the exact pronunciation of it.
i also like the name Minzah, which mean (it was written in urdu name book, so i am going to write exact meaning in urdu) "Ayyob say paak, naqais say mubrah" means the one who is clean of any faults, and erros (sorry can't thinking of exact meaning in english)
also the name Mirha which means jannat ki hawa.

Re: Girl Names

hmm someone suggested Isha, I'm liking that as a girl's name. Not Eesha, but Isha, as in the last prayer.

What do you guys think?

Re: Girl Names

hrm… this is what i found for Liana…
Liana *\li(a)-na* as a girl’s name is pronounced lee-AHN-ah. It is of French origin, and the meaning of Liana is “to twine around”. Name of a vine common to tropical rain forests. Also short form of names like Liliana and Juliana](Juliana - Name Meaning, What does Juliana mean?), or a variant of Eliana](Eliana - Name Meaning, What does Eliana mean?).

Eliana is very pretty and on my names list if its a girl.
Eliana *\e-lia-na* as a girl’s name is pronounced el-ee-AH-nah. It is of Hebrew origin, and the meaning of Eliana is “God has answered”. May also be related to the Greek “elios” meaning “god of the sun”, and the name may thus mean “daughter of the sun”.

For Liyana, I found the following:
Gender: Girl
Origin: Muslim
Meaning: Tender

Also the following for Liyana: Softness, tenderness from Muslim Girls Names starting with L

I would really speak to someone familiar with Arabic to determine if these meanings are accurate and how best to spell/pronounce them.

Re: Girl Names

there is a Hindu name as well which is spelled mostly like Isha in India [pronounced as ee-shaa]. i think this muslim name should be spelled a lil differently to show the difference/identity...i wud spell as Eshaa [we can't use Harf e hamza in rom,an so its omitted...i could write as Eshaa~]
