i need some gift ideas for my mother. Like something an elegant pakistani lady would like?

Depends on the occassion…but i would say a vacation to unwind would be nice.

A blown up framed family portrait, a nice painting, a locket, a bonsai tree, a pretty suit... and if all else fails... flowers!

Sometimes the little things that you do for mom win her heart. Make the day a very special day for her. A day when she can just relax and not have to worry about the daily grind, and end with a nice hearty family dinner.

I agree with teggy. Take her out for dinner, buy her flowers, maybe get her something small that she can use around the house that she needs, or then buy her something she likes... exotic teas are always a great gift!

i know if i tried to send my mommy on a trip..she would be like..zayada dadi ama na bano..and same with dinner..
i always end up giving my mother..nothing but lovee..this yr i am thinkin abt gettin her something but i dont know wht..usually i just pu ..'and my name' next to my brothers name..on the gift tag

thing is her b'day was a few weeks ago and i'm going back home later this week.

^ I would still stick with what teggy and Sabriya have suggested. A nice day out with dinner to finish the day off would be nice. Materialistic things are fine too but you want your mom to have some moments which she can remember later on in life. What better way? :)

u can give her jewelry, clothes, perfume, or makeup..along with a nice dinner :)

Well I guess you would know your mother better than us. I would probably get my mom a rug or a lamp. She loves that kind of stuff lol.
Maybe you can get her like a necklace or earrings or a bracelet. oo and also get her some flowers.

I would go with sheen.. a typical desi woman would love nothing but gold jewelry...(my mom too)...
So go for a gold ring, necklace or earings... :)
