And the army should be tamed. Its too powerful and full of short-sighted military officials who have no understanding of economics, trade, geo-political strategies or anything relevant in the modern age. They still think military might = strength. The problem is that the past 20 years have shown economic might = strength.

Geo was spreading Indian culture and Judiciary and establishment was protecting it . Now the things are changed but Judiciary is now much better than Ifti era so don't count them a party .

All I know here is that, if you speak against the might holy cow Army, you are in trouble. IF you speak against MQM/AH or any other mafia you are in trouble as well. Whats the difference??
The point that Army defends our country deserve them to be the holy cow is only valid of they ONLY defend the country instead of bugging politicians phones, offering money to bikao journalists like Mubasshir Luqman and ppl like Zaid hamid, and killing honest journalists like Saleem Shehzad. Army is that "political" institution of pak who claim 98% of budget every year on the name of "defense" and we saw how much defensive they were during Abbotabad operation.

Agreed. We all should respect army and we do but we cannot admire the faction of army who doesnt become a coehersive political institution trying to coming into power after every single decade and even when not in govt, become the element of threat for country's own people. An army who doesnt believe in accountability on its own. What actions have been taken on all the commissions who suggested changes within secret agencies? When was the last time an army mess being audited?
If somebody has blamed you for anything , you should come clean instead of forcing them to shutdown or apply censorship.
How can you even justify this bully attitude?
And as per my knowledge, currently army has already opened files of previous coups and reading Egyptian army takeover and how they handled brotherhood. Isnt it what called,"chut'ti nai hai mun se ye kaafir lagi hwi" :)

Pakistan disintegrated b/c of military's policies/rule & if they are not tamed it will happen again. In most non-banana republics army defends country not rule it.

To put the blame of disintegration of Pakistan squarely on army is wrong, although Ayyub's policies did play their part. Bhutto was also bent upon getting the government by hook or by crook.
Overall it was general apathy felt by W. Pakistanis towards Bengalis which resulted in it. They were never considered 'equal' and unworthy of getting inducted in army.

It is a very common Pakistani trait. Such acts of violence have happened time and again by different parties in different parts of the country. Just singling out MQM shows obsession of the poster.
Honestly, MQM is one party which is abused the most everywhere in Pakistan, including on this forum, with impunity and mostly unjustly.

Do you think army is winning hearts and minds of Blauchs by killing and dumping anyone remotely associated, or not, with rebels? Recent HRW report stated that they are killing relatives/friends and kids as young as 10 years old. In one case a child was picked up on the way to school and he was found dead 3 days later. That is a crime against humanity & all people of conscious must condemn it.
