Geo Vs ISI
Geo all the ways a puppet of establishment
will now face establishment
Geo looks weak
All media is taking opportunity to push them down
It is tit for tat
ISI will win this bout, due to the pressure on geo other tv channels will fall into line. I don't think this would be good in the long run. ISI has been committing mistakes during the past many years which if not pointed out May increase in the future
^ yes they are under immense pressure from the army on one side and the media on the other. I have never liked ML, however for the past few months I haven't watched that many programs therefore am not sure what he's upto these days
I have no sympathy for Geo, they were literally asking for a defamation case the way they ran tasteless nonstop live debates. Too bad they're getting roped in for *Ghadhari Case. *
Having said that, things are not helping ISI's image either.
I am neutral in this one, let geo and ISI fight it out. There was a time when Pakistan army used to be showered with unconditional love. Love/respect is earned not 'won'. Army should think about it.
^^^ They destroyed themselves & thought they were untouchable. Geo & other channels with their race to the bottom have done enormous damage to the country. Even their news readers sound like they are from Bollywood dramas with 24/7 "exclusive" breaking news. :(

sorry even now ppl still love and show their un conditional love, may be you are outside Pakistan, the only time ppl stopped supporting army when mush was in power and I still remember an incident when an army officer (maj) near aray bazar was stopped and ppl started beating him, after tht incident the uniform for students was in army medical college and all NUST institutes were changed from khaki to the white one.
yes we loved them when they raped Bengali ladies. We loved them when they surrendered before Indian army in 1971. We kept on loving them when they introduced us to weapons and drugs during so called Afghan Jehad. We loved them when they usurped lion’s share from county’s budget. We loved them and their tolerance when they opened fire on unarmed students during movements like MRD and One Unit.
What an unconditional show of love. There is a Hadees that Allah loves people 70 times more than their mothers. Na’ooz billah, it seems that Pakistani loves army (unconditionally) 100 times more than a mother loves her children.
^ plz don't bring the hadiths in the matter thts totally irrelevant, just stating the things don't prove anything, you have any proof tu plz do share .
the biggest lie is this budget thing, check out the condition of soldiers on borders they don't even get clean water to drink, the biggest misconception whenever nayone speak of army ppl think about only high rank officers and don't think about the jawans who are the major part of army.
wht about those soldiers who live all year round on borders away from their family and don't whether they will see their families again or not, wht about those soldiers on siachien , wht about those soldiers whose heads were used as footballs by Taliban.
you forgot the 120 fauji who got shaheed in siachien.
wht about their families, I have so many friend who have lost their young brothers 22 or 23 years of age serving in army, their lives are never same.
why we always jump to find negative points and close our eyes for positive things.
its really hurting to see paki ppl criticizing your own army wthout any proof. nothing less than geo.
PS: I am out of PA forum, sorry I don't have such a big heart to read these kind of comment about my pak army.
hath kangan ko aasrsi kia. If Pakistani civilians are traitors and responsible for Pakistan's current condition then army is more than equal partner in crime.
As far as proofs are concerned, just being neutral will show us true picture. Saheefe aane ka waqt khatam ho chuka. ab koi Sura e Munafiqoon nahin utarne wali.

ppl still love army.
people don't love them they are scared of them. We can do what ever we want but will still remain bloody civilians. Anyways even now armymen cannot freely roam around the country in their uniform (the reason being their own policies spanning the last 35 years). The image of army started taking a beating in musharrafs time but they did not try to have it changed. When the army becomes part of political equation it becomes controversial. What image would I have of an army which is thought to be behind killing and dumping of separatists in balochistan? Is that province part of Pakistan, do Pakistani laws apply there? Why don't they do the job for which they are paid? Every other day there is some terror incident in the country.
The boss should have intervened the moment it started to look to balloon into a full-scale confrontation. But when he stepped in, he chose to pick up his party, ditching the organisation he heads himself.
Spy agencies world over do not like reins. Every spy agency is furiously wild, the only difference is the amount of method they carry in their madness. Given the history of the country and the circumstances, ISI wildness can be explained. Having said that, the fact is that the agency should be governed under a proper code of conduct and must not jump out of its professional bounds. The people who now cry foul had been using the agency in the past to advance their own agendas.
On the other hand we have a media which has certainly outgrown its size. As Mirza Ghalib would put it:
Tu past-fitrat aur khayal-e basaa buland
aey tifl-e-khud’muaamla qad say asaa buland
Media’s domain has assumed epidemic proportions. The media wants the roles of investigator, prosecutor and jurist reserved or shared with it which is not possible. The working of the ISI is flawed, but the media is also not as perfect as it wants us to believe. Our media intellectuals do not deserve the kind of importance, respect and immunity they want. How an anchor-person sleeping covered in his blanket in a warm bedroom could be equal to a soldier standing guard at the border in the middle of a frigid night?
ISI is not accepted is a scared cow and it should be made answerable for its actions. But so should be the case with the media. We cannot replace once scared cow with another.
Rauf Klasra on how the defenders of the nation barged into the house of Shaheen Sehbai and put a pistol on the head of the son and told him to tell the father the consequences of his reporting. One of the intruders suggested to kill the kid to give Sehbai a lesson. Rauf Klasra was threatened as one of his story included the names of some corrupt generals which resulted in distortion of image of the Armed forces.

There is something so fundamentally defective about this kind of statement, and mentality behind.
Everytime Army's top brass is constructively criticised for legit reasons, people bring in the *aam fauji *at the border argument as an emotional blackmail. It's that kind of emotional blackmailing which has made army see itself as demi-Gods, powerful above all, but accountable to none. And whoever dares raise a point about accountability and transparency from that institution is called traitor and public enemy number one. The country has turned into a garrison state because of this a 'civilian will always be inferior to a fauji' mindset.
