I need to go to cricket forum to see if the boyzz (Inzi's smilie would've been perfect here) have blame IK and illuminanti and ISI for Najam Sethi's suspension.
If not, I'll shall be the first one to leak the rumour. :D Might as well, eh?
Also, please check out the Showbiz Pakisan forum to see if Shaista Wahidi has blamed it on IK or not. If not, please tell her to immediately consult anti-IK trolls in PA to put it on the best fall guy ever.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday urged the nation to boycott Geo group for airing a controversial and offensive show in its morning program.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Khan accused the Geo group of receiving foreign funding to set agendas in Pakistan.
“Mir Shakeel ur Rehman is a blackmailer. I demand that there should be an independent audit of assets of Jang/Geo group.”

Central Information Secretary PTI, Shireen Mazari, today condemned in the strongest words the Geo morning show which sought to ridicule Islam and the Prophet(PBUH)'s family. This is absolutely unacceptable Mazari stated. It is also unconstitutional since our Constitution does not permit anything against Islam.**
Mazari said this clearly shows yet again the Geo/Jang group’s agenda is dictated by foreign funding and anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan. It is time the government put a stop to this abuse of Islam and the Prophet (PBUH)'s family and hold the guilty accountable instead of simply sheltering behind PEMRA and the so-called Complaints body. Make your mind up, either quit superficially professing about democracy and freedom of speech or stop criminalising Imran’s political stance. Your attitude shows you yourself have very little respect and understanding for the terms you’d love to throw around.
Imran was fully entitled to his policy of boycott (he never advocated a ban), but no way it gives PAMERA the right to close down a channel without any legal proceeding!

Sid my friend, make sure you aren’t mistaking IK for Pemra.
IK has no authority whatsoever to suspend or cancel any licence of any TV. Your implication is totally misplaced. Work it out again buddy

I think Pakistan does not abide by the Islamic Laws whether its GEO or ARY or GOV or individuals. What is not going on iMeda Chanels. Who does not know.what Shias say about Ahle Bait. What they say about Hazrat AYESHA) and other SAHABA No one is above Law. so CAlled ALLAMA QADRI, who does not know him, his tapes are still available in the open markets.

Guys latest news about GEO TV Ban. As pamera took action against GEO tv and now geo tv license is disproved. I think this is victory of the whole Pakistani nation.

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority disowns decision by its own members to suspend Geo TV’s licenses
An attempt to take Pakistan’s largest and most influential television station off the air descended into farce on Tuesday after the country’s broadcasting regulator disowned a decision taken by some of its own board members.
Three members of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) horrified journalist rights activists on Tuesday when they held a press conference declaring the organisation had suspended three licenses from Geo TV.
But hours later Pemra itself said the organisation “disowns” the decisions taken by the three men.
It said their discussions during the day “had no legal standing” because only three members of the 12 person board were present.
Although Geo has in recent weeks been dropped by many cable television operators the channel continued to air its nightly news programmes as normal on Tuesday.
The channel’s troubles began when it aired explosive allegations that the country’s top spy agency, the Inter Services Intelligence directorate (ISI) had attempted to kill star Geo journalist Hamid Mir as he was driving through Karachi in April.
The company has been at the heart of a roiling controversy that has engulfed the country’s media and political class ever since.
The allegations against the intelligence agency were incendiary as few dare to publicly cross the ISI, an institution long regarded as among the most powerful in the country. The military responded by formally demanding Pemra revoke Geo’s license for waging a “vicious campaign” aimed at “undermining the integrity and tarnishing the image of state institution”.
Pemra said it was still working on the complaint, which it had referred to the law ministry for a legal opinion.
Geo’s situation had become more perilous however after enduring relentless attacks from several other quarters.
Commercial rivals, keen to cut into Geo’s dominant market position, have vigorously attacked the company on their television channels and in newspapers owned by other media conglomerates.
Former cricketer turned politician Imran Khan has also gone after Geo, accusing it of working to rig last year’s election in favour of the governing faction of the Pakistan Muslim League led by prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
But last week the situation became far more perilous after religious hardliners accused the station of broadcasting blasphemous material – an especially serious charge in a country where religious inflamed sentiments can quickly lead to violence.
In the years since it was established in 2002 Geo has become a major power broker in Pakistan, commanding vast audience attracted by its lurid tabloid style.
Media watchers say it had angered the country’s powerful army by its vigorous campaign for peace and trade with India as well as aggressive criticism by Mir and other journalists of the army’s human rights abuses.
Geo executives insist they will not give up. In 2007 the channel was closed by former military ruler Pervez Musharraf. It responded by staging its popular television talk shows on the streets of Karachi, a stunt that proved wildly popular and helped cement its reputation for doggedness.

have ISI got public sentiments? or is it manipulated support or is it the same sort of support which PTI gets when it declares tsunami and in reality it is not even a nehar.
I am not a GEO supporter but will stand up for freedom of press in Pakistan. Imran should have supported the principle of freedom of press instead of trying to score some brownie points with the army and ISI. Shame really.
Tsunami was only reality in IKs head. His argument is that where they won its b/c system was fair, but where they lost its b/c of dhandli. Its head I win and tails you lose type scenario.
As for GEO, they had it coming, but I would not banned them. There are 1000s of people employed by them & they will be all without jobs. Who is going to pay their salaries?

I heard Mubassir Luqman was trying to prove in today's program that Geo also did Quranic "blasphemy" in some serial drama. Wut a psycho!
What will happen now is that the word "Blasphemy" after getting so much abused by Luqman, ARY, IK etc will make everyone sick so they'll finally think (i hope) to come out of it.
Whether they get successful in banning Geo now, or if they do it later, one thing is for sure. Geo will bounce back, may take few months but it'll.
As the rule of thumb says, wut doesnt kill you make you nothing else but stronger!!
