Guys latest news about GEO TV Ban. As pamera took action against GEO tv and now geo tv license is disproved. I think this is victory of the whole Pakistani nation.

Geo’s licenses suspended till May 28th: PEMRA
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on Tuesday announced that it has suspended Geo News, Geo Entertainment and Geo Tez’s licenses till May 28, Express News reported.
Speaking to the media after holding meetings the whole day, members of Pemra said that they are an independent entity and will make decisions as such.
“Pemra is an independent organisation, and it would have been better if a government representative attended today’s meeting as well and help us come up with a decision,” said a Pemra official.
The Pemra official said the recommendation has been sent to the CoC and their recommendations are expected to be returned in a week’s time.
Moreover, he said that once the recommendations come back, a special committee will be formed to make a final decision regarding Geo TV’s licenses.

Pemra committee suspends Geo TV licences
ISLAMABAD: A committee formed by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has suspended the licences of three television channels owned by the Geo TV network.
Speaking to reporters in Islamabad, members of the committee announced that they have decided to suspend the licences of the three channels — Geo News, Geo Entertainment and Geo Tez — with immediate effect.
The suspension is to stay in effect until May 28, when another session of the committee will be called to decide on the final decision regarding cancellation of the licences.
The committee also decided that Geo TV offices also be immediately sealed. However, a final decision on the revokation of the licences will be announced following the meeting on May 28, which will also be attended by government representatives.

What a great victory for Pakistani nation. Now the country has emerged as a super power. There are no more rapes, violence, murders, robbery or any other crimes anymore. Nation's biggest issue has been resolved.

From April 19th theatrics to Shaista Wahidi's issue and Geo's policy of not regretting its mistake, I have a thousand grievances against Geo. Shakilur Rahman can live on his wealth for another 1000 years and his top anchors and columnists can survive without any work for a century, but what will happen to those who wait for the 1st of every month to draw their salaries to feed their families and run their homes?
I will not shed any tears for Geo management, but I am sad for journalism and media in the country :(

GEO was knocked off the air by Mushy too and it did come back. I think PERMAs decision will be challenged in the court and as usual court will over turn it. Personally, I think they should not be banned, but they should fined (along with other channels) for their shenanigans.
