And it is a PM’s prerogative. Although I agree with you that he should have announced Raheel’s successor’s name by now, PM is perfectly within his rights to do so any time before 29th Nov (when the current COAS is due to retire).
My guess is it will be announced on Friday or Saturday

As some news items said earlier , Raheel Shareef asked to not to announce the new name
