Most people here are trying to tell you : do not interpret religion based on your opinions , let religion base your opinions ... otherwise you will only pick the lines that suit you from the holy book !
for us muslims rapists, child abusers, alchoholics, drug addicts, murderers , gays all are negative characters of society who we must reject because they are hurting humanity in one form or the other...... so what you are saying is hand over your child to an alchoholic rather then the child abuser because the alchoholic may not abuse the child ! whereas in reality both are equally bad ....

Since it's obvious you know little about psychology, I suggest you read about Kohlberg's Levels of Moral Development. People who base their morals SOLELY on dogma(religion), are at a LOWER level of moral development than adults that follow a HIGHER level of morality which weigh situations pertaining to their circumstances, as opposed to others who base their morals around an OUTSIDE source-- furthermore, an AUTO-AUTHORITATIVE source!
We should ALWAYS seek to understand these things (even in religion), from the context of our morality (hopefully it would be higher than simply relying on ancient dogma). If your morals are so easily controlled by the influence of others, it becomes not only disingenuous to the self, but thoroughly pitiful.
Whoah. I don't know what planet you're living on? In cases of rapists, child abusers, and murderers those people are infringing on the rights of OTHERS. They DENY others their rights and FORCE something onto their BODIES that they reject. Homosexuality is CONSENSUAL, and thus no one is physically harmed. Just because some people get their panties in a twist over two men kissing in public does NOT mean they are being harmed. If I punched you in the face, that would be harming you. Making out with another girl in front of you is not harming you.
And alcoholics and drug addicts are just that, ADDICTS. It's a MEDICAL condition. This is so incredibly laughable! Do you seek to insult cancer patients the same? LOL!!!!
