It was not his people who turned against him, has this been the case, Qadhafi could have not hold the ground for 6 straight months... and that against NATO...
.
It was in fact his people who turned against him, it wasn't NATO boots on the ground but the rebels who grew tired of his oppression. Read about the "Five-Point Address" he gave in 1973 and what followed, for the 38 years Libyans have been held down by his thumb through his brutal laws. He had been living on borrowed time for far to long.
The BBC website has posted a video of Gaddaffi begging for his life while his people are dragging him on the ground. I trust that.
What you say about the West having their own agenda may or may not be correct. Time will tell. However, you should not write off the Libyan people. The uprising is happening all over the Middle East. People are sick and tired of being controlled. We are seeing the affects of it now.
let me guess.
average time you watch TV is over 4 hrs a day?
That since you were a child.
Hanibal, Nato already intervened to help Muslims in Kosovo. At the time, Muslims were happy as the Serbs were being bomed. The precedent was set back then, and at the time, we (meaning Muslims) were ok with it cause we already knew what Milosevic did in Bosnia.
Kosovo, Bosnia countries in making, can you tell me if Libya was country in making too? both Bosina and Kosovo was attacked by their neighboring countries or the was full support of neighbor countries... that was not the case with Libya...
Bosnia and then later Kosovo were, at the time, still apart of Yugoslavia. Its own government attacked its people. During the 90s, the UN, Nato, the world sat back and watched. Nobody intervened. Muslim men were put into concentration camps while the women were raped. Surely you remember. When it was happening again in Kosovo, for once, Nato intervened. I'm sure the West had its own reasons for intervening, but we were glad that someone stepped up to help for once. I don't recall Muslim countries lending any support at the time.
Libya's neighbouring countries are all going down one by one - Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria. None of them are in any position to even comment on Libya given what is going on in their own countries. The difference is that those governments did not use the kind of brutal force Gaddafi used against his people over the past few months.

Let us assume that everything listed here true, but does that means Gaddafi created that wealth? No. He stole those resources from Libyan people & he and his cronies got rich from it.
Its same with rest of the Arab dictators. They haven't created oil wealth. If anything they are stealing that wealth for their people. Saudia is good example. King and his family are enjoy everything while throwing crumbs at his people, and exporting Whabi terror to rest of the world.
Difference between Bosnia and Libya is that everyone was asking for intervention at the start of the war in Bosnia but UN took too long, in Libya's case, not everyone was calling for it, in fact, Turkey heavily opposed any foreign intervention.
Government attacks its own people. People fight back. Government increases force, masses die. People try to fight back and ask for help. This happened in Libya. Talks start to intervene. Nato starts bombing Gaddafi strongholds to help the people. If Syrians asks for help, then it will happen again.

How can you compare Libya with Bosnia and Kosovo? In Libya, it's a combination of uprising and struggle for power. No external power has a right to intervene in internal struggles. In Kosovo/Bosnia, there was nothing like that. It was pure genocide on the basis of religion/ethnicity.
