Funny rishta stories!!!

Re: Funny rishta stories!!!

No, it’s funny the way they feel like they own him or something when he obviously has his own life and decisions. It’s like everytime we talk, that’s their main topic.

Re: Funny rishta stories!!!

yeah i can imagine..lol... I knew of this other family where something like this happened, the rishta was set with a 8-9 yo cousin (sofa king stupid) cz she was "sooooooo beautfiul" (Uh..ew!) but then obv the guy wasn't into it and eventually it broke off i think.. not sure what happened..... ....

Re: Funny rishta stories!!!

hehe thats funny Shay. Yeah it strikes me as odd that people living here still worry about caste...Especially if you claim to be religous..etc....then they really should know that caste means nothing...other traits are more important.

I mean on one hand you have a great person but he/she is not of their caste....would they rather marry their son/daughter to someone horrible, but at least its the same caste?? How could you do that. My son is only 14 months, but Inshallah I will not be like that when he is older.

Re: Funny rishta stories!!!

That so cute....it reminds me... my bhabhi was talking about how they'll find spouses for their kids.. both her and my bro want them to be pakistani..... :@:

Re: Funny rishta stories!!!

^Very true. My mom is more liberal than anyone else in her family in that regard so when she approved of who I liked (considering he was memon), her entire family got upset that she was all broad minded and didn't want to follow traditions. She still sticks by the fact that your 'caste' doesn't influence what kind of person you are, your own sense of religion, education and culture does.

It's so nice that you're keeping an open mind when it comes to your son. You will be a rockin mama.

Re: Funny rishta stories!!!

I have another story! I swear I know too many!

Well my nani in pakistan decided that she was getting her youngest son married :)(about 6 years ago) anyways there was a particular rishta where the girl was a teacher. So the family went over and they knew this teacher’s family through family who teaches in school near her, got there and there was a female headteacher there as well… umm watev!

Anyways got down to talkin and this head teacher asked “what do you do?” and my uncle was like “I have a textiles mill:)”. then the lady asked “What else do u do?” and my uncle was like “I’ve got some land so I’m trying my hand on agriculture” and then the lady went “and?:aq:” Uncle was like “that’s it”.

The woman was like “that’s all!:konfused:”, at this point my uncle had gotten quite pissed offand for a joke he was said “No I play the drums as well:p” the lady turned to look at him and was like “Really?” and everyone looked at this lady like she was crazy! Needless to say that one didnt work out!:mocking:

Re: Funny rishta stories!!!

Some distant relative from Pakistan rang our house and coincidentally I picked it up from upstairs at the same time my mum picked it up from downstairs. I mistook this relative for one of my aunts who I hadn't spoken to for ages so I held the phone to wait my turn to speak to her. Anyway after a bit I realised it wasn't her and was going to hang up when she said 'The reason I've called is...' and then she came out with it. My mum was like 'We're not considering proposals for her yet blah blah' and this woman starts making this crying sound saying 'She is MINE...MY DAUGHTER...you can't deny her to me.' I was about to wet myself laughing especially as my mum was just dumbfounded! After a while of fake weeping she said 'So you're really not going to consider it then?' at which my mum replied 'No..' The woman went quiet for a bit and then suddenly came out with 'Any chance you can send my son a camera phone then???'

reminds me of my friend who’s extended family came to stay with them from pakistan. their son was 17 at the time and my friend was 15.. so since day one, the parents of the guy were wayy too nice towards the girl and a week later, they said to the mom, buss ab aap in dono ki mangni karden.. before we go back.. and the mom was like.. UMMM… she’s wayyy too young and your son hasn’t even graduated from high school yet! they go, that’s why.. we want him to go to univ here and if she sponsors him then he can do that easily.. my friend was PISSED.
