Have you ever seen such couples? What do you think of them?
The other day I saw a woman fully covered wearing big woollen cardi and everything and just leaving the hands and face open with her husband who was in T and shorts, I thought other people specially the non-muslims would see this as oppression.
Re: fully covered wife and husband in shorts in summer
^ exactly
why should they care about what other people might be thinking? If someone does, muslim or non-muslim, automatically assume it's oppression then there's something wrong with themselves and not the couple.

ive seen hijabis on the beach with husbands in shorts lol. i agree it probably does give a bad impression to the non muslims who are already sure that muslim women are oppressed.
Re: fully covered wife and husband in shorts in summer
It is unfair only if the wife didn't want to cover up but the husband *made *her do so while he walked around in chaddis.
But there's absolutely nothing wrong with it if the wife herself chose to dress that way. We're all responsible for our own actions and no one else's. Allah mian isn't going to ask the lady why her husband wasn't observing the prescribed male hijab. The husband is going to have to answer that himself.
However, the men have a **duty **to advice (not force) their daughters, wives etc about hijab and if they fail to do so, they will be held somewhat accountable.... which is why most religious muslim men usually ask their wives to cover up in public.
As for what non-muslims think, phuleezz, even muslims refusing to drink alcohol is oppression to the non-muslims. ¬¬
