Re: Franchise opportunities...
Popeyes or Krispy Kreme. Timmies' Iced Capp can make a killing in Pakistan's hot weather.
Re: Franchise opportunities…

And yeah popeyes wud be ![]()
Re: Franchise opportunities…
Al-Baik :k: not american but very popular in jeddah and mecca own by a pelastinian. It has in past and still left KFC waaaaaaaayy behind that now Saudi Govt dont let Al-Baik branch open anywhere else in KSA
b/c it effects other businesses ..poor souls
Re: Franchise opportunities…
i dunno if timmy’s would be such a great idea there.
i don’t think they could get hooked onto donuts..
that’s a funny sight
Re: Franchise opportunities...
i also wanted to make haagan daaz in lahore but they are asking for wayyyy to much money, i might go for ben and jerrys that was much cheaper.
Re: Franchise opportunities...
smiles, they are buying Rs. 15 donutes from Duncan Donutes in karachi. But its not great success. Iced Capp could be a tottaly different thing though. Like open a Iced Capp shop only, it has potential.
But Furqan, opening up an American or western in general chain will be a big risk as far as secuirty is concern. Something goes wrong there and the foriegn chains get the backlash.
Re: Franchise opportunities…
Al-Baik…Aarrrgggghhh (drooling). That is so good. I went to pakistan last year. And during the beginning of my vacation, i went to Saudi for 2 weeks for umrah. Ate at Al-Baik. It is awesome:k:
Re: Franchise opportunities...
i dont know if you really make much running franchise stores.... end up paying back 55% atleast (depending on the franchise).. my exp was in Canada.. dont know if its any diff for pakiland
Re: Franchise opportunities...
Starbucks would be an instant hit considering how people wanna act all cool sipping coffee, even if its bad for health & bad for eco ethics.
Though I do believe desi style fast food joints should be promoted in Pakistan. For example, Savour food in Pindi was a hit! Only if it had variety. Karimo (kay samosay in Sadar Pindi) can also make his name a franchise & sell samosay all over Pakistan.
Re: Franchise opportunities...
Savour food, their chaval and shami kebab are yummy!
But I think they dont have other dishes.
Re: Franchise opportunities...
Anything will do if you set up at right place in Pakistan. franchise is quick to be hit. but has other issues as already mentioned getting stones on the windows etc.
But if you open anything with your own brand in style with good structure, that is bound to be hit as Paksitanis love the food and good dating point. keeping price at above average also help to make it more attractive in Pakistan :)
People who coppied KFC, ie AFC and others I guess making more than KFC in Pakistan.
Ice cream business should do good as there is no chain working after Walls taking over locals Polka and Yummy brands. most of the Ice cream palours are also closed. with hot weather all year, its will be good.
Re: Franchise opportunities...
Hooters i tell ya
Re: Franchise opportunities...
dippin' dots ice cream.
Re: Franchise opportunities...
Victoria Secret
Re: Franchise opportunities...
I would think twice before investing in an american franchise in pakistan. It would be amongst the first targets in case of riots.
Re: Franchise opportunities...
true..question is whether the risk and costs (insurance premiums) and loss of business/income during renovatio after some attack...outweighed by the profits?
My suggestion is to mix an american franchise with some religious things, so if ppl burn it or attack it they are being blasphemous and then we try them with the law that they so cherish
a mcdonalds with quranic ayat calligraphy in the store or a small masjid inside the store for ppl to pray.
lets see dem MMA goons burn it now :)
