^i have laura mercier silk creme foundation. i would say it's comparable to mac studio fix in terms of finish but the shade was a really good match (NC30 to Beige Ivory).
i don't use it anymore. i used it up to my wedding when i bought mac full coverage, which is also a good colour match. sheerly applied with a flat foundation brush it's perfect for everyday wear too and i prefer its look and finish with powder on top. someone i met recently for the first time was surprised to later learn that i was wearing any foundation or powder :)
ok i need helpppp from u guys....im frm pak...my uni is opening ssoon and i need a good daylight long lasting and most of all full coverage foundation that will hide my acne scars and give me that flawless look i have oily and sensitive skin...

--> AA1985: Karaja is an Italian brand. I used their lipsticks, lip pencils and eye shadows a lot in the late 90's. I never tried other products by them though. The quality was okay, I think (don't remember much).
Be careful when you're buying Karaja, as fake ones are available too. Naheed's is reputable so they probably have the genuine stuff.
Hey Gina, I need your expert help :).
I have very light blemishes and a slightly uneven skin tone. I need a good foundation for weddings/formal parties, etc. that would look good in photographs and would give me that glowing skin look.
But obviously, I'll be doing heavy eye makeup on such occasions. So how does one achieve that glowy look while applying heavy makeup? Which foundation (under a $40 range) will give me coverage for my blemishes and skin tone and also make my skin glow?
is the coverage really sheer i want somethng as sheer as possible
yes its sheer, i use a tinnnnny drop to cover the whole face...you can even mix a dust of brillance powder or something similar..
stila's tinted moisturizer in spf 30 is also great, with very sheer coverage.
thnxxx for this info!!! Ive been looking at Sisley forever...but since its quite pricey--havent yet purchased it. Thanks for recommending products that are actually useful. I just wish I had read this a month ago--before going out and buying a Chanel foundation.
They seem to have very few foundation colors available in the line though....

No problem BR! :)
and yeah sisley does not have too many shades..i think its like 7 (??)
I want to invest in a good foundation as I have a bunch of formal events coming up that I will be attending.
On a day to day basis I have been wearing Loreal True Match liquid foundation... which is ok but I am not in luv. Especially since I feel like the color isnt a "true match" ... but is the closest thing I can find in that brand. Sometimes I wear Bare Minerals which I luv since the coverage is pretty light so its good for everyday ...especially in the summer time I feel.
I have tried MAC in the past and I just dont like how it changes color as the day goes on.... plus the coverage is just too heavy for me.
My skin is extremely dry... so Lancome Teint Idole Ultra wasn't a good fit for me either....
So do you guys have any recommendations for a good foundation for dry skin???
^ Bobbi Brown's skin foundation is great, I have very dry skin, and it covers great, and I feel my skin stays moisturized throughout the day (of course I wear a separate heavy moisturizer before). The foundation stick by BB is amazing too, I usually apply it with a little bit of MAC's fix + and that gives a very natural glowy look. I personally love BB foundations, even better than Chanel, IMO. They work for my dry skin a whole lot better than any other brands I have tried.
Has anyone tried Chanel's Vital Lumiere?? What's the verdict on this??
I had heard that its good for dery skin so I got a sample just the other day.
It goes on smooth and is really soft to the touch, doesnt feel heavy at all. The only thing is that I felt it was a bit too glowy for me and also, the coverage is pretty light...I guess it's good for day wear.

I don't have very dry skin, but I love Bobbi Brown foundations.. I use the fluid for everyday and the stick for occassions.
