Smashbox foto finish is great for combination skin.
Re: Foundation 101
Thanks!
Now where would be the best place to buy it? Sephora sell them but their so darn expensive!
hey Gina,
im based in pakistan, and am very happy with the coverage and natural finish that maybelline mousse gives me - i just a sunscreen, primer, maybelline mousse, a little bit of loreal mineral blush, and i am good to go!!
but my problem is that none of these are "long lasting" - usually, about 2-3 hrs after application, my face looks like i have some mousse on, but thats about it...no blush on at all!!
can u suggest some good foundations or powders that dont look cakey but are long lasting? ditto for blush! something natural and long lasting...
i love maybelline mousse coz its easy to apply and looks very natural...over here, brands avaiable are maybelline, loreal, DMGM, MAC (But no testers avaialble for MAC); clinique....and ART DECO...
Another girl had a query regarding MAC foundations.. she sent me a picture and it's next-to-impossible to tell the exact color by looking at a pic.. I know no one carries testers in Pakistan for MAC.
U can get a concealer by The Body Shop, they have a few great ones.. and their blushes are nice too.
L'Oreal true match foundation has great staying power.. u can make u're foundation last longer by applying a primer first..then foundation and lastly by setting it with either loose or pressed powder.
Re: Foundation 101
Ok, tried and tested foundations pour moi.
MAC Studio Sculpt in NW15
Bobbi Brown 00 Alabaster
MUFE HD in 135
Sisley's in #2 Soft Beige
MAC: flaked, menh coverage, looked cakey
Bobbi Brown: looked great in natural light, not so much on camera or indoors. Bonus: Matches every skin tone.
MUFE HD: dried my skin.
Sisley: stayed put, smooth coverage, gave me a feeling of "second skin", worked well with my MAC concealer, looked freshly applied even after a sweaty night out.
Re: Foundation 101
I use the Alabaster shade in Bobbi Brown… which formulation did you use? I like the tinted moisturiser, the skin foundation spf15, and the luminous moisturising foundation… those are the three i always use.. MAC is a big
for me.
Sisley eh…
I have a bottle of Phyto Teint Eclat in my drawer somewhere.. will give it a try..
Re: Foundation 101
Maroush, i too have the skin foundation spf 15 :)...and oohhhh i so want the phyto teint eclat!! :))
i was hugely disappointed in the MAC foundation..their studio stick concealer (NC 20)however is wonderful.
I've always been a fan of Bobbi Brown.. but I bought Lancome's Photogenic Lumessence Foundation and it's really nice.
Re: Foundation 101
btw these were all samples...
i am currently using bobbi brown and the sample from sisleys...which i havent run out of yet..
oh i found YSL touche eclat to be better than dior skinflash

Re: Foundation 101

Bonus buys from earlier ![]()
this buffing cream makes the skin makeup ready! and not to forget the glow
Sisley eye cream (yes yes…i had raided the counter :))
oh almost forgot!!
this is such a great brightening buff and wash
Re: Foundation 101
i mix this with my foundation to give a little extra ‘glow’ its super fine with a hint of “brillance”
Re: Foundation 101
What is Rose Orient Powder?
Re: Foundation 101
It's a pink-ish loose powder... gives your face a nice finish and glow. A little like the Dandelion powder of Benefit.
is the coverage really sheer i want somethng as sheer as possible
Re: Foundation 101
i've read good reviews about laura mercier foundations. they are expensive though. anybody owns one?
