so this means u havnt ordered your bridal outfits yet? ... or is it being given in bari?
or i can quit my job...lol....really considering it so that i can enjoy my wedding preparations and have more time to stay in pak after the wedding.....
fari if i was you, i would quit my job..wedding is somethin which every girl dream to be perfect..you can get another job once you are back but once your wedding happened that time will not return again..
the ready made bridals are usually not nice as the one you oder ..
quiting job is not necessary... one can take a long break... its hard to get a good job back (depend on ur career, stage n market)...
i would suggest to plan a short trip before hand to atleast book ur bridals (as it takes approx 5 weeks to get one made).. the rest wud b ok at shaadi is in low season... you could go 3 weeks prior to shaadi then...

I know quiting isnt the best of choices but it also depends on each individual... for me.... i start my masters program in September so i was going to quit either way...so now im just quiting a bit sooner.
I had thought about making a short trip....but it would end up being too expensive....i can use the money saved on other things
also thanks for sharing ur preparation tips.

well they're making the walima outfit so i have to make shaadi and mehndi outfits plus all the other prepping. i reaaally wish i could get it made myself when i go there but 3 weeks in peak season doesn't seem like nearly enough time. looks like ill have to trust my cousin to make it for me :/
need your opinion on one issue........... as i mentioned before my mehandi is booked at Nadeems and now my inlaws are thinking of having the valima there too.......... is it weird to use the same venue twice?
i don't think it'd be weird, we were initially planning on having the mehndi and baraat in same place as well, my cousin did the same thing.
Re: For Brides planning Lahore Wedding outside of Pakistan!

Re: For Brides planning Lahore Wedding outside of Pakistan!
I finally booked my ticket today! so leaving for pakistan in 2 more months....i have everything figured out for most things....BUT i need help on wedding favors and invitations..... can anyone suggust areas in lahore i can go for modern invitations and wedding favors, a shop or mall or area that specializes.
I have infor on everything except this.......... any suggustions would be great and appreicated.
hospital road has a LOT of card shops, but be prepared to spend a few hours there because it will take you awhile to find some nice ones. the selection is plentiful, we got my bros cards made there last year...went to abt 6 or 7 shops and thru hundreds of cards til we found 'the one' :) lol but it was beautiful, so it was well worth it. also, when you find the one you want and give them the text for the card, ask them to print you a sample before making all the cards so you can make sure there are no mistakes and that you like the layout etc. good luck

so for all of you who live in pakistan how is the new law for time restrictions? Are people following the law, or are parties still ending at 4-5 in the morning?
