England finally showed what they are capable of. They should have won this match by at least 3 goals.. but nonetheless a good win. Milner was sublime and Gerrard was just amazing.

But my word, how USA left it late! that was the kind of drama WC brings... frikking awesome!!!

Finally an England game worth watching!

Should have been atleast 3-0. I hope they don't think they've done enough now. Barry needs to learn how to KEEP the ball and not give it away so much. Gerrard was good cos he stayed on the left and poor Joe Cole, why is not allowed to start a game. J.Cole dushmans!

If Germany destroys Ghana which it most likely will and Serbia defeats Australia

Then it will be:

Germany vs England and USA vs Serbia in Round of 16

If England somehow manages to defeat England, it will then play the winner of Mexico vs Argentina match....which most likely will be Argentina.....

England is a fading soccer power, read Soccernomics. Capello kya, Alf Ramsey couldn't take this team to the semi-finals.

Can someone explain why Algerian fans were crying? It seems like their goal was just to ruin the USA's World Cup instead of trying to win the match and qualify. Quite cynical if you ask me.

That's what I saw as well. I don't think you can win many games sitting back the entire time and hoping for an occasional break away when the other team is attacking and penetrating as well as the US did. They certainly seemed more concerned with spoiling the Americans day than getting a win for themselves. Most of the team are French-born players so....

I do thank them for taking several shots that were, "the definition of optimism" as Ian Dark said.

England will lose to the Germans as Germans do not make very many mistakes, England team is a joke with all the talent, winner of the World Cup be from 1 of these countries, 1) Brazil, 2) Argentina, 3) USA, yes i said USA because they playing with heart, 4) Netherland. 5) Mexico.

that maybe, but the German's central defenders aren't the best they've ever had and are weak, England will be looking to exploit that.

England we know have been under par, but that being said the only time in the 3 games our goal was breached was due to a goalkeeping error, our defence has been a rock.

I just stated these are the favorites to win so far as what we see, i hate Brazil but man they look good, the only team that can beat them is Argentina, those 2 teams the way they playing looks head and shoulder above everyone else.
