What the hell is this file? It says I’m missing it when I try to run ad-aware. I need to run ad-aware, because upon trying to find free episodes of The Middle, I went through some surveys in order to play the video (surveys which NEVER ENDED!!!) and at some point I was prompted to run some file that I was later told by Sheeda in chat, that is a trojan.

So, now when I use my Symantec (what a useless program really - it takes forever to run and I let it run over night and I wake up , and the window is gone!), I can’t find anything that I can remove from the computer. And so I’m trying to use Ad-aware, and the friggin thing wont run because for some reason this file FLTLIB.DLL is missing.

What is this file, and how do I get it back? Actually, just answer the second question, because I’m sure I wont understand the answer to the first one.

you can probably download the required dll file and then register it. I’m sure you’ll find ample instructions through other forums.

I just wanted to suggest downloading and running Malware Bytes’ - it’s one of the best malware removal tools I’ve come across in recent times :k:

Download the file from here:

There is a file inside it named fltlib.dll

extract it and then copy it to the location

C:\Windows\System32\

It means in drive C under folder Windows then subfolder System32

it will ask you to replace the old.. press yes.

then press “windows key”+R

Windows key means a key on your keyboard with MS Windows sign on it..

and type or copy paste this:

Regsvr32 “C:\Windows\System32\fltlib.dll”

and then press enter.

Try to run ad aware after that.

If not then use Malwarebyte Antimalware

Pirated or authenticated.

Do reply if it solve your problem for future references.

PCG it won't let you go to any site that will contain that DLL . It won't let you run CCleaner or antivirus to fix that stuff up . You might have to do it manually .
