I don't really know anyone who didn't know their partner before they got married, so i guess it was easy for all of them, but even if you are having an arranged marriage try to get to know the person after you get engaged so the first night won't be too weird. what ever you do just give it ur personal touch, i can't say much too many kids around hehehe.. :p
Personally i would LOVE to make her my best friend by the end of the first couple of NIGHTS.
I know a girl could most definitely be reluctant to get involved in any kind of physical relationship BUT being a guy, i would NOT feel very comfortable in even TOUCHING a girl unless i know for sure that she is definitely comfortable being alone with me and we have each others respect.
PCG, i can see that you think most desi guys are desperate for sex and un educated, it could be true to some extent but would you rather go and sleep with a GORA, spend half of your life with him and then decide to marry him if you feel comfortable??????
^ okay..this is not related in all to this thread - but just this morning i was thinking ‘what if there was someone named ‘mysterious guy’ on GS’ - and here i see your name for the first time..
flip..that’s just freaky… seriously..really really freaky.
lol…I have been on GS for more than a year now, i usually post on cricket and entertainment sections. Too bad you are having nightmares thinking about a “mysterious guy”.
all those ceremonies just before the first night and 50,000 people in your face and not to mention the advice given by those people can take the romance away a little bit.I am not that westernised or anything and have never been married ,but judging from the stories I've heard, the first night in desi weddings can be a pretty lame affair at times.
I can look back at it and laugh now but my wedding night was AWFUL. It was the first time I spoke to my partner or even sat in the same room as him and I was nervous to the point of wanting to throw up! When he entered the room I was shaking so much I could hear my bangles clinking together! What I wanted more than anything was reassurance, care and attention....
What did I get? Well after a bold "ASSALAAMUALAIKUM" there was a 15 minute silence where I was thinking "I'm gonna throw up any minute". Finally he began talking about the function we'd had that day and how boring he had found it, he talked of the food, the guests, the air conditioning...YES THE AIR CONDITIONING and I sat there till 2am listening to him tell me how an AC works NO KIDDING!
scratches head well..what can i say..? sorry to hear about it..but hopefully it was for the best for you ..and i hope that you’ve moved on with your life …
Hilarious, no romance or anything, guy will jump on you as soon as the door closes...LoL
In my case, if I know her well, no point in waiting, if I don't maybe a bit of hesitation but the end result wud be the same.
Guys, just remember first impressions last and you have all the time in the world to get physical later on - on that night the girl has left her parents home and set foot into a new home...be considerate to the fact that she may be nervous and shy..
