First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

^^ Yes my friend, considering that Mammels, reptiles etc were here before humans. Also if you believe in evolution then we were one of them hence using some sort of basic animal language.

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

Peace kaka,

plz tell us how. :)

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

^^ How?

Are you asking how animals interact through sound?

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

Peace kaka,

No but about the evolution, humans knows some basic animal language etc.

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

Summarizing,
per "hindu mythology" Sanskrit is first language.
per "islam mythology" Arabic is first language.

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

Well its simple, languages evolved with us. As our brain got bigger and smarter, our languages got sophisticated. More advanced societies have more advanced languages.

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

Peace all,

Arabic as per ‘Islam’ is a fact, non fiction and true language. We can’t say its a myth. However, I would like to know whether 'Sanskrit is ‘hindu mythology’ or not and how hindu proves that the sanskrit was the first ever language according to hindus?.

bigger and smarter brain :hmmm: No offense meant but when I think about it, the first thing which comes into my mind is the picture of the aliens from ‘Mars attack movie’, having bigger and lets say smarter brain too.

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

Thank you for making my point much better than I could have hoped to. Om namo Narayanaya!

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

Peace Southie,

Actually I missed adding "why" and "?", my bad.

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

Exactly. It’s absurd to think that any language was the first language, especially since the form of Arabic spokes 1600 years ago would sound like another language to modern Arabic speakers. Are they considered different languages then?

There are isolated villages in India where the inhabitants still pass on chants to their children, and scientists believe that it’s a preserved form of one of the earliest human languages (their DNA is incredibly similar to that of the first humans who migrated out of Africa). Even modern day Sanskrit was heavily influenced by the Aryan invasion (not Hitler’s version of Aryans, but invaders from Central Asia who spread into Europe, the Middle East, and India), and thus, cannot be considered the first language. Evidence of the Aryan influence on language can be seen in the similarity of the word “mother”, which sound surprisingly similar in Hindi, Arabic, as well as Latin and the Romantic languages (English, Spanish, Italian etc) that it inspired.

The information is from The Story of India, a PBS documentary. Here’s the excerpt from episode one:

"The first human migrations out of Africa are thought to have taken place 70,000 years ago. Migrants gradually made their way down India’s coast over a few thousand years. The migration was possible because sea levels were 200 feet lower then they are now, allowing travel via long-since submerged land bridges. The migrants’ descendants have been identified by DNA markers as far north as the Pakistani coast and as far south as the Kallar tribe on the Kerala coast in modern India, where entire villages share ancient DNA strains. Along India’s west coast there remain pockets of tribal peoples who may have descended from these first human migrations. Until the modern age they have remained largely self-contained, endogamous (marrying within the tribe), physically distinctive in appearance and outside the Hindu caste system. Many retain their own languages, which are distinct from the main Northern and Southern Indian language groups."

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

Peace LKK. I don't pay attention to syntax too much. I understood your post. My response still stands.

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

I don’t want to hear it. Sanskrit, the language of the Devas, is the first language. The proof, beyond all reasonable doubt, is in this post.

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

Absolutely false.

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

“oo oo aa aa” ?!

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

That is NOT our belief. No where does Allah say that. This is merely an assumption, and a made up thing to impose Arabic on all non-Arabs. If Hazrat Adam was speaking Arabic then what Arabic was he speaking? There are many Arabics in the world. Even at the time of Prophet, there were many varieties of Arabic.

Arabic was born very late out of several earlier Semitic languages. Thus Semitic languages like Syric, Aramaic, and Hebrew are older than Arabic.

I think everyone knows huroof e abjad.
There are two sequences in which Arabic letters are written. One is standard Arabic one, that goes like: “alif bay tay thay jeem hay …”. Other is abjad sequence, that goes like: “alif bay jeem daal hay …”

The second sequence, which is not standard Arabic sequence, is called huroof e abjad.

This sequence actually came from Phoenician language, which is a precursor to Arabic.

Interestingly, modern Roman (English) alphabet also mostly follow the Phoenician letter sequence (huroof e abjad).
Consider following:
“A B C D” = “A B J a D” (alif bay jeem daal)
“K L M N” = “K a L i M a N” (kaaf laam meem noon)
“Q R S T” = “Q a R i SH a T” (qaaf ray sheen tay)

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

You could be correct. I am just making stuff up - to fit in with other posts!!

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

I think this is a pretty authentic hadees

Love the Arabs for three reasons, because I am an Arab, the Qur’aan is Arabic and the speech of the people of Paradise is Arabic.

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

I would be interested in the reference of this hadees. But even without any reference, this hadees looks unauthentic. Because it is asking people to "Love Arabs" when everyone around him was Arab themselves. It makes no sense to ask, for example, a Pakistani to love Pakistanis.

No where in Quran does Allah say that Arabic has any special privilege over any other language. Quran talks of it being in Arabic but the reason given is that it is for making the local people understand the message.
And the reason we recite dua and namaz in Arabic is that we want to keep the ORIGINAL words, which happen to be in Arabic, so that the message is not lost in translation. Arabic is not used because it has any superiority over others.

In other words, Arabic is the language of Islam because the Prophet happened to speak Arabic.

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

khoji sahab i understand your disregard for hadees......:D

Re: First Language Ever Spoken on This Earth

You should understand my disregard to "fabricated" hadees.
There are many preposterous fabricated ahadith which are the basis of books like "Rangeela Rasool" and "Satanic Verses".

There were thousands of ahadith fabricated in early Islamic period to suit every one's purpose. This is why we can't accept everything which has a tag "hadeeth" attached to it.

If you disagree then so be it. I am not here to start a religious discussion. But do let me know which dialect/mushaf/qirat of Arabic is spoken in paradise.
